(I originally saw this in a DirecTV Now forum - I initially didn't realize that ATT TV meant U-Verse...)

There is a carve out in the Sunday Ticket "rules" that lets anyone who can't get DirecTV to subscribe to Sunday Ticket by streaming.  (The Sunday Ticket website has the details and an address checker to report if they think you would qualify for the exception.)  However, if you could get DTV and just choose not to, that doesn't help.  In particular, there isn't any special offering of Sunday Ticket to U-Verse (or DTVN) customers.  My guess is that the license with the NFL was specific to DTV, and even after ATT bought DTV, they aren't allowed to offer it to customers of their other video services.  Although there were earlier some rumors in the DTVN forums to the contrary, an recent "official" post stated Sunday Ticket wouldn't be available to DTVN subscribers for the 2017 season.  Assuming that was a valid and correct post (not all are Smiley Happy), the fact that the statement was that specific may imply that they are trying to renegotiate this, but haven't managed it yet.

When does the contract end? Why wouldn't NFL want to incorporate DirecTVs parent company in the deal and expand their reach?
