No live sports on FS1?

I just read on the Fox Sports 1 site that it's contract with Uverse does not cover live events starting tomorrow (2/28) and Uverse customers will be blacked out from the Xfinity race at Atlanta (along with many other sports). Come on Uverse, get with the program and fix this please. Live sports are the main reason I still subscribe to your service.

According to this Wikipedia article:

On August 9, 2013 Fox Sports 1 announced it had signed a TV contract with IMSA to televise the entire USCC season between 2014 and 2018.

AT&T U-verse carries Fox Sports 1 in the U-200 (and above) tier.

Sponsors have nothing to do with it. AT&T sponsors the NFL stadium in Dallas, but they don't have the NFL package. They also sponsor the baseball stadium in San Francisco, but they don't have the baseball package.

The answer has been posted several times over in this forum. A simple search would have yielded the results.

The game itself was also on channel 3005 and 1658. Searching for "soccer" in your Guide or other searches on the internet would have found the Spanish-language telecasts.

I am new to U-verse TV. Is (United) Sports Car racing available on network or special channels?

Thanks JefferMC...I try to keep on top of things like this-but between TV stuff/networks changing and getting older, it gets a bit difficult. I guess I can always look at my latest issues of Autoweek as well....(while it wasn't the greatest, I do miss the Speed channel)

Thanks again....

If I remember correctly, Fox Sports 1 used to be Speed before the rebranding.

Yes, but it's not the same-more like an all sport (as in ball sports) network.  Forrest Lucas (of Lucas Oil) is/was putting together a "new" racing network MAVTV, but it's limited in scope.

Hi @Meanderer - well MavTV is carried by almost all outlets here in Indiana, except U-Verse.  We are waiting for it but not holding our breath.

Thank you dhascall for the welcome and information (don't think it will be much different here in Ohio)! I think I'll stick around here a bit....Being the racing "off season"  we'll see what pops up in the next few months.

Take care!

Didn't say contract ended, just we may lose FS1.

Already sent a PM to ATT Uverse Care about this, nothing was listed in programming changes. 😉

Hi,

We apologize about any of the inconveniences. FOX Sports 1 is asking AT&T to pay additional fees for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Big East Basketball Games, as well as U.S. Golf Association tournaments. While it’s important to us that we provide our customers with the content they want, we don’t believe that it is reasonable to pass on the added costs of carrying this programming to our customers.
Our strategy has always been to carry the sports our customers want most, but only through fair deals for our customers and our business. We won’t agree to a deal that would cause our customers to pay unreasonable rates.

Variety has an article up about the dispute. It appears that Fox Sports 1 is trying to charge more for NASCAR, Big East Basketball, and USGA. These were all picked up by FS1 after they had a carry agreement with ATT. It sounds like to me that FS1 should live up to their previous agreement. They negotiated big deals to carry these sports, THEN want to charge more to Uverse to show them. Doesn't sound fair to me. I'm with you Uverse.

I know this much I could care less about a little more money so if they cancel this programming I cancel my service and go right back to Comcast which I hated but at least will have the programs I want to watch and I am a u450 subscriber and have maxed out service so losing a customer that spends money. If won't be a channel that is included then let it be one I can pay extra to get until I can get my comcast up and going.

That's what I told Fox Sports in the message I sent them.

What doesn't make sense, they are still running the Camping World Race on Saturday though on FS1. Smiley Surprised
