Not able to watch recorded shows on mobiles or laptops from U-verse app.
Hello after spending exactly 1:35mins58secs, the problem is not resolved. I was given the excuse that the network does not release data to U-Verse daily and may only do it bi-weekly. How is that conveience service. I recorded a show that comes on daily and I attempted to view it and it is unavailable, so then I tried to watch an On-Demand show from the same network and it played BUT, thru the TV and not on my mobile, the same for my laptop. There is a glitch and please resolve. Searched the community and does not appear problem has been since 2013, so I am not sure, what is going on. I need to watch my Young & the Restless, LOL!!I(Not On-Demand either, UGH) Daily shows would be harder, Im sure for On-Demand system.
A not so YOUNG, Restless AT&T & U-Verse subsciber, Lady Marsha

If the guy walking down the street and riding the bus is a Uverse customer, he's watching On Demand content, not DVR content.
If he's watching DVR content, he's a DirecTV customer.
For clarity: Watch anywhere

If that's true @skeeterintexas, then someone needs to tell AT&T/Uverse that. Because their commercial absolutely 100% states that "Only AT&T offers all your live channels AND DVR on your devices... data free". The guy in the commercial is walking down a public sidewalk, riding a bus (so not connected to a LAN)... and the "data free" reference clearly implies that.
Don't believe me? No problem. Watch the full commercial on YouTube for yourself:

Just FYI @skeeterintexas... all due respect, but this issue is not remotely "solved".

Read the fine print in the last frame:
"Req'd. compatible internet connected Genie HD DVR & device, elig. TV & wireless svcs. and streaming through DirecTV app.....Details at att.com/datafreetv..."
Edit to provide screenshot of link:
That, my friend, is what you call a 'disclaimer'. Note that they NEVER say "Uverse".
I think what muddies the waters is that there is no distinction between what Uverse offers and DirecTV offers.

Touche, @skeeterintexas. I did not see/read the fine print. That is INDEED one heck of a disclaimer.
And great point... they never do say "Uverse" in the ad. You are right. Apologies. I forgot that AT&T owns DirectTV as well.
And yes, you are right again... that does indeed muddy the waters. Terribly. That commercial (and others like it) definitely leads customers (like myself) to the conclusion that the services we pay for offer functionality that... isn't available to us. That is fairly misleading on AT&T's part.
I realize that Uverse and DirectTV are two different platforms, but you would think that since AT&T owns both, they could find a way to migrate functionality this from one platform to the other.
Again, apologies for "taking you to task". Clearly some clarification was needed here. Thanks for clarifying the issue for me/us!

Apology accepted.
Hey....maybe they ARE making those commercials in anticipation of merging the two platforms! That'd be cool.

Thanks man! And yes... that would be cool indeed!
We have friends who we have historically watched The Walking Dead with on Sunday nights... but they had a baby recently and can't come to our house anymore. They also had to cut costs on cable (no AMC), so I would love to be able to stream TWD from my DVRon my iPhone and display on their TV via Apple TV/AirPlay.
Unfortunately, iTunes doesn't release episodes until the next day. They had a SlingBox app they were using for a bit, but you couldn't pause, rewind or fast forward. Oh the HUMANITY!!!!

Well this is a deal breaker for me...I currently have Frontier (formerly Verizon) using a Tivo box and looking to switch. I can get a good deal with uverse and Frontier is being flaky with their so called high speed internet. However it is mandatory that I have the download capability to watch off line. Tivo is awesome at this (how I wish Tivo and Uverse could work together). Netflix and Amazon and DirecTV have this feature too. I can download my programs at night and them have them ready the next day for viewing or when I am on a trip. Contrary to popular belief I do not have unlimited data on my phone and my tablet frequently does not have access to wifi so the app for on demand items only will not work for me. Why is at&t so short-sighted?
