Olympic Channel is LIVE!

Channel 667/1667.  WHEW!  I kept seeing DirecTV but not U-Verse as a carrier.  I was worried we wouldn't be getting this great channel and I would be forced to switch providers!  Thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU!  GO TEAM USA!

Is it on U300 or above? It doesn't seem to be on U200.

Hi there!  It is available on U300 or above only.  Thanks! Mike Y, AT&T Social Media Manager

Why has the replacement for the NBC Universal-HD channel been added to a higher tier, U300, when the previous channel Universal-HD, was available to me in the U200 tier.  The industry views the Olympic Channel as a "replacement" for NBC Universal-HD (http://awfulannouncing.com/olympics/nbc-launch-olympic-channel-july-replaces-universal-hd.html), as such, it should have replaced Universal HD in my U200 package.  Why should I be forced to pay more for this "replacement" channel?

Thanks for the information.

But Frankly, I don't know who's more screwed up, AT&T or NBC sports. (So far, seems to be a tie.)

It's the same darned channel that began as Bravo HD+ in 2003, became Universal HD in 2004, became Universal Sports in 2008, got shut down in 2015, got revived as Universal HD, then shut down again in July, then apparently relaunched as the Olympic Channel.  During all these transitions, I don't recall the network's announcers ever saying that a change was coming or had come.  Finding out what happened to the programming became detective work.

AT&T hasn't helped either.  I never saw anything saying Universal HD would disappear, or that Olympic Channel could be added via U300.

Besides, the Uverse channel listing on the AT&T web site STILL doesn't show the Olympic Channel, or ANYTHING listed for channe 1667l using the link  http://soc.att.com/2v9Os2b  (which redirects to https://www.att.com/channellineup/tv/u-versetv.html).

Then again, the lineup from the link above doesn't give you channel numbers for ANY of the channels, which it did in the past.  Is that information available ANYWHERE?

(It does show up on my TV's program guide, just not online)

I agree.  I wouldn't at all be surprised if NBC doubled or tripled the per subscriber charges for the Olympic Channel and that's why Uverse pushed it to a more expensive tier.  The problem is that at this point, no one has provided any information on what prompted the push to U300.  So the effect on me is that I've lost one of the few U200 channels I actually watched and I'm still paying AT&T Uverse the same amount each month.

Why when Uverse drops a channel or pushes it up to a new level, do I still have to pay the same monthly rate?

Comcast laid cable in my neighborhood last summer but are not offering service yet.  Looking forward to having a choice soon.
