Possible Fraud Fake Email Concerning Remote Control Skins

I recevied an email tonight supposidly from AT&T U-Verse concerning getting a free remote with the skin of my choice. I tried signing in, and it would not let me do so. I thought maybe I was putting in the wrong password. I asked that my password be emailed to me, but it was never sent as requested.

I looked at my email address at the top again, and saw that it had an extra letter. It was obviously a fishing email. I promptly changed my password. Did anyone else get this email? I deleted the email so I cannot post it here.

The email is legit.  Not a phishing attempt.

I also received the email but it was in my spam folder on the yahoo webmail site.  I always check the webmail site prior to downloading my mail to my client on my laptop.  Didn't open it so can be of any assistance except to let you know I also received it.

I received the same email today, 02-24-15, it's very legit looking.  Of course I got nowhere when I entered my "code" so I changed my password on AT&T and my email accounts.  Too bad, they were very nice looking skins.

I got the same email. I couldn't find a code and came here to see why I didn't get one. It is a VERY convincing email. I still have it if somone there needs to see it. I can forward. You need to send an email alert right away!!!

I need a confirmation if this is a legitimate email or not. I have recieved other emails from a similar ip address before (off by one digit) and they were legitimate. Here is some text from that email:

If you haven't already, give your remote a personal touch with a FREE decal from U-verse. They're easy to apply and easy to remove - we'll even ship it for free - but time's running out, so get yours now.

When in doubt, ask yourself this question :

When was the last time at&t or any provider for that matter, given you anything for free ?

I thought not.

I got the same email today. I even called At&t and no one there could help me with the offer code. They never heard of this offer, then I was transferred to the reward department, they must think I am nuts.

I just called uverse customer service about this email because I became concerned after reading the earlier posts. I'm happy to say that in my case, the email is a legitimate free offer. I suggest anyone concerned call and find out if your offer is legitimate before panicking. Good luck!
