Programming Changes for March
A lot of apps are going away on May 1st.
Notice Appearing in USA Today on March 20, 2018
AT&T's contracts with programmers for the content displayed on U-verse TV service periodically expire, or may be terminated, but are usually re-negotiated or extended with no interruption or change for our U-verse members. Additionally, from time to time it is necessary to change channel line-ups as well as television package contents. The programming changes set forth below may occur as follows:
March 2018:
As previously noticed, AT&T's contract with the programmer for the following channels is set to expire. While these channels will continue to be available to U-verse members so long as AT&T has the rights to carry them, if a reasonable agreement cannot be reached with the programmer the programming will no longer be available. AT&T may modify the channel location for the programming by moving them from their current channel location to a channel between 9501 – 9599, and if a reasonable longer term agreement cannot be reached with the programmers, we may lose the rights to carry them (listed in alphabetical order) in or after March 2018: Havoc TV HD (channel 1490), SNY HD (channel 1704), U-verse Shopping Multiview application (channel 412 and 1412 in HD), and U-verse Paquete Espanol application (channel 3001); World Fishing Network HD (channel 1679).
And the following channel: Newsy (channel 175 and 1175 in HD).
As well as the following local channels: 1) In Florida, in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area, WPLG (channel 10 and 1010 in HD); in the Orlando-Daytona area, WKMG (channel 6 and 1006 in HD); 2) In Georgia, in the Jacksonville, FL-Brunswick area, WCWJ (channel 17 and 1017 in HD), and WJXT (channel 4 and 1004 in HD); 3) In Michigan, in the Detroit area, WDIV (channel 4 and 1004 in HD); 4) In Texas, in the Houston area, KPRC (channel 2 and 1002 in HD); in the Odessa-Midland area, KOSA (channel 7, 16 and 1007, 1016 in HD); in the San Antonio area, KSAT (channel 12 and 1012 in HD); 5) In Wisconsin, in the Madison area WKOW (channel 27 and 1027 in HD);

And this is when I cross my fingers and hope:
RedZone to Sports Pack
RedZone staying AWAY from U-450 exclusive

Someone always has to say it each month, and this month it is me. "Who will be the first to get hysterical about any particular channel?"

In my best Arnold Horshack voice..."me...me....me...."
We just got Newsy a few months ago, didn't we and they're taking it away! That's it. I'm going to check out the local cable service! j/k
Don't mess with old people. The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

While I know you're joking, Newsy is an interesting situation. As we know, channel negotiations usually are good for a couple years.
It's part of the Scripps package, but it's the only Scipps channel potentially going away, other than the app which AT&T killed a lot off recently.

Yeah, I know what you mean , spectrum cable has nfl network on the second tier of channels, and red zone on third tier. So basically on spectrum you would have to pay 50/month to get red zone. Hope uverse keeps nfl network on u-200 and red zone where it is .

The only app that I hate to lose is the I Heart Radio app. Living in Central Ohio, but wintering in Fort Myers, we love the stations down there and when we are back home it kind of keeps us connected with our Winter Home. I know I Heart is in major financial problems right now, having filed for bankruptcy a few weeks back, but I still hate to see this app go. But just like all the others that have come and gone with this service, we will survive, lol!

Yes, it did, as well as Gabe Kaplan, and Robert Hegyes, and a few others.
? - what show is that? I can name a few (The Beverly Hillbillies and The Andy Griffith Show come to mind), but Hogan's Heroes only had its pilot episode in black & white.

@bill4002 -- My hope is that because every once in a while, AT&T has offered a free month of the sports pack that if RedZone goes there, that I can swing that discount for the first month, cancel it for a few days and then sign back up the next Sunday I would use it.
AT&T has never offered any preview or discount for HD Premium other than a few years ago when they did a free week or so...the day after the NFL season ended. I remember a few times NFL RedZone was free to everyone on the second or so week of the season, but only the first games were free...but that was eons ago.
@gcotton69 -- With a portable Roku device (about $40), you can get the free TuneIn app and plug it into any modern TV...all you'd need is internet access. You can also use TuneIn on any smartphone... And I just realized that I don't think it has IHeart channels (naturally...argh...), but at least some local channels are better than none?
