Quit adding channels with ads only
I am getting really tired of having to Hide Channels of the stupid advertising channels that you are supplying. I don't need a channel to tell me about the latest Lexus, or Lincoln, or Dyson vacuum, and as a fromer Marine, I certainly do not need nor want the US Army channel. I remove them, and next thing I know, you've put it back on my Guide with some other ad station. I pay a pretty good price for your service, and I don't think I should be pestered with these stations. If you're going to add these stations, then give me a discount.
How can I get you to stop adding these ad channels? With 6 TV's, it makes it tedious to remove these stations all the time.

The reasons I left:1) System kept rebooting. Had already had them out twice for the same thing, and they couldn't get it fixed.2) Ads on the TV. I was paying about $240 a month. I don't need the ad stations. I pay the same with the new provider, don't get the ads, and internet is sooooo fast.
3) Internet speed. Sorry AT&T, but you're like Blackberry phones, but you fell out of the game on this one. You're driving a Prius in a Ferrari world.

People who answer questions on here get paid! Wow, I had no idea. I'm due for some serious backpay!
Wait, we were supposed to get paid for doing this? Dang it NOW they tell me!
You know, reminded of a quote I read once.. Think a minute, and you'll get the joke.. maybe..
So, Mr. Trump, Do you think you will ever run for president?
No, I coundn't take the pay cut.....

So going into the list of "shannals" to block and manually typing in 1000 or 1923 or whatever is too hard?
I'm also trying to figure out if I got any new ESPN "shannals" recently. Perhaps Hacksmarks was one?

@Charvel, we were just poking a little bit of fun. No actuall harm was intended.
And it is a poke at folks who are best described as grammer natzis, who's only comment is to make issue with ones spelling being a true sign of inteligence.
WE GET that you are unhappy with channels you don't like, getting added to your lignup, and how from time to time, your settings get undone.
PLEASE, keep in mind, we are customers just like you, and have no more say or influance than you do. I truly wish ATT management read the forums, but they don't.
We also share your frustrations in, most things we like, some we don;'t, and a few just bug the living bat squeeze out of us, just like it does, you.
ATT is a business, and they make their choices, good or bad, at the corperate level, and seem suprised when something they do is not appreciated. (Just as often, when something they choose is even liked.. as in they really liked that? wow.. who knew.)
They are also big on monetizing their services and that means ads... no one likes the ads, almost universally, but they still put them in requardless.. (a for instance, there is an annoying pop up that keeps asking me over and over to add my cell phone number so i can "recover" my password and account easyer. I don't WANT to give them that information, and it keeps popping up even though i keep telling them "NO!")
Pleese, feel free to keep posting your frustrations and opinions.. all we ask is, ya please keep it cival.
Thanks.

The problem is NOT that previously un-checked boxes are getting "unhidden." The problem is that AT&T keeps ADDING OTHER channel numbers for the same garbage content that requires extra work to have to hide.
And BTW -- if you are not even a Uverse subscriber, why the heck are you chiming in to give "squeaky wheel" advice on a product on which you don't even know what the heck you're talking about??
Not a "hard thing to grasp, really."

It is time consuming, invasive, and annoying -- {keep it courteous} this legitimate complaint from paying customers.

a. Some posters like to chime in to stir the pot (I'm looking at you @Tigereyze209
)
b. I am a loooong time Uverse/AT&T customer (TV/Internet/Phone/cellphones) so I feel qualified to chime in. I don't like those dumb NBA League Pass channels. THOSE annoy me but I choose to either hide them or wait until they go away, which they will unlike the shopping channels, the kiddie channels, and the Jesus channels that are also useless and annoying to me.
3. This thread was dug up from over a year ago (last post was 10/2015). But I do enjoy re-reading my witty and often thought provoking posts so thanks for that.

Thanks for thinking I have enough sense to know HOW to do that!
I'm just an old lady with limited knowledge about how these things work but I DO know how to hide channels. That and rebooting a DVR is about the scope of my expertise.
And if I'm trolling, I've been trolling this site for over 7 years!

Sure -- you can keep adding repetitive tripe to this thread all you want to. It is a free country, and you are free to be as non-productive and annoying as you want to be. And you obviously have quite a bit of free time on your hands for pot stirring.
However, just be aware that your "pot" needs to be flushed.
