These changes have been made in the latest channel database.

The HLN channels already matched AT&T's channel description in their database, so I left them as they were.

Thanks TG!

Actually, I really could use your help on this.  I try to keep the channel DB updated when you post changes, but I think I've missed the last few (several?).

Can you give me a summary of all the channels that currently need to be changed in name?  I know there was one or two you posted that said they were changing their name in August or something like that, and I put them off figuring that the name hadn't officially changed yet, but I might as well put them all in now and be done with it.

Thanks in advance!

I'll take a look to see if there are any other name changes needed.

Here are a few things that I noticed:

200 - U-verse Movies Channel

203 - HLN

258 - Sciene (no longer Sciene Channel)

1203 - HLN HD

1258 - Sciene HD (no longer Sciene Channel HD)

Ok, I understand.  I wish it were still "Head Line News" instead of much of programming that is on that channel now.  😉

I agree.  I miss the "old" format where you get all the news in a single 30 minute sitting, 24 hours a day.

HLN is the Casey Anthony channel.  Thankfully the Internet makes for a good news source, the bulk of my news now I get off of my smartphone.

It would be great if we could get BBC World News.

Hmmm...  Haven't watched HLN in a few years, but I do have to commiserate and say that since I live in the central Florida area, EVERY channel is the Casey Anthony channel!

HLN switched to a "tabloid" format a while ago. They seem to have the jazzy graphics package, and IMO, it's not good. OTOH, our local cable provider used to insert local news updates (about 5-7 mins long, with 2-3 headlines, a promo for one of their sister companies, then local weather) at the tail end of every half hour on Headline News. Sometimes, the story being teased on Headline News looked interesting...BAMMO! A taped local news update.

Yup, my local cable provider did the same.  The "Old" format for HLN was regular news from the hour to 12 after, business from 15 after, followed by sports, and then the last 3-4 min was "human interest", or if your local cable provider wanted to, the local update until the bottom of the hour where it would repeat all over again in the same format.  Watch any 30 minute segment, and you had were updated on everything.  I miss that...
