Trending feature has disappeared

The Trending feature from the Menu has disappeared.  I used that option frequently when I wanted to find the channel for a program I knew many others would be watching. Our costs keep increasing, and our services keep decreasing.

I recently switched to ATT from Verizon.  I feel betrayed.  The trending function was a feature I was attracted to.  As soon as possible I'm going back to Verizon.

Have you other customers had issues with UVerse internet not working well with SMART TVs?

We can’t do much else when trying to stream on our smart tv.  Seems like it’s not getting enough bandwidth.   This internet issue and losing the trending feature was the last straw.

All -- This is a user-based (peer-to-peer) forum for users to post issues and concerns for other users to help. Very few employees post here, but they are all identified by their user names and badges.

This is not "false advertising" because it says in the terms and conditions that services/channels can be added, removed, etc. This was announced via USA Today, http://programmingchanges.att.com

and via this forum.

@ra81aa You switched from Verizon, but your user icon mentions DirecTV Now which is a different thing from U-Verse. DirecTV Now is a streaming service offered via DirecTV. U-Verse is a wired service, similar (but different) to a cable TV provider.

For the record; we use trending all the time and will really miss this feature.

I hope you will reconsider bringing it back!

Changing to Comcast. AT&T does not care about their customer base. A few months ago menu disappeared for two months and customers were to get an adjusted bill for the inconvenience. NEVER saw the adjustment! AT&T should get out of the business and quit fleeing the public.

Can someone, anyone, explain the appeal of the trending feature?  I've never used it and, dare I say, even knew it existed.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

The trending feature allowed you to see what other people were watching - it also allowed you to search what was "trending" with other viewers by category such as "sports". So say if you knew a big game was on that a lot of your neighbors were probably watching you could just hit trending and go that exact channel or if you felt like watching sports you could see what sports people were watching and not have to go to the channel listing and scroll. For me at least it made Uverse very usable and since there was no notification (they just turned it off) and no reduction to my bill or new feature to replace it - I am going to make an effort in 2019 to take my $500/month spend with ATT (I have their mobile service too and have not been happy there either) somewhere else.

Excellent summary of the immediate benefit from accessing the TRENDING MENU.

For example, the MULTIVIEW SPORTS CHANNEL does not display sports events outside of channels 600-700.

I am still hoping that AT&T or a clever AT&T customer will suggest an equally convenient alternative.

Well said.  They will lose customers over removing this feature.  I wonder if they realize just how important this feature was/is.

I'm seriously considering taking my $300/month elsewhere if this issue isn't resolved. This is beyond disappointing. I expect a suitable replacement for a very important feature.

Trending was the best feature they had, I’ll leave AT&T now once my contract period is over.  It would be one thing if they had a reasonable alternative to navigate, but their whole guide/menu/channel layout is a joke.

Yeah, I'm about to cancel. My prices (already very expensive) keep going up and it seems like I'm getting less for my money.  I loved the trending feature for sports and quick access to popular programming.  To just turn on my tv one day and its not there, and then have no mention from att&t about it and have to search forums just for an explanation and to make sure it wasn't just me having the issue?  Sorry, but that's second rate, and I'm paying first rate prices...
