TV Picture Display

Why are the sides of the picture cut off? I recently purchased a new LED TV to eliminate this problem that occurred with my old model. I have gone through all of the settings for the picture as provided with the new set and the pictures are either cut off or too large to be accurately displayed.

I was told by the technician when he was installing our service to make sure to use the HD channels to get ride of that problem. They are all in the 1000's. ie. 1003 instead of 3, 1004 instead of 4, 1005 instead of 5, etc.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.
