Uverse Closed Caption postion

How can the closed captioning position be modified?  We have two deaf children, so the closed captioning must be on at all times.  The current closed captioning places the works in the middle of the screen across the actual faces.  What kind of setup is this?  I've had cable, Netflix, Amazon Video, DVDs and never have I seen anything like this!

I've had very good luck with U-Verse and am generally happy with it, but if this cannot be setup correctly at the bottom of the screen like it should, I'll have to take steps to another service.

Thanks

Joe

Press the "Menu" button>Options>System>Closed Captions

Play around with the different settings.  My CC is at the bottom of the screen.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Press menu on remote -> options -> system -> closed captioning as mentioned above.  Turn digital closed captioning off and standard closed captioning closed caption 1.   This will lower most (all?) captions on the screen instead of plastering them in the middle.

Some channels display CC about 1/3 rd from the bottom ( as preferred ) others display 1/3 rd from the top ( across faces )  I can't understand why anyone would program the CC to display close to the top as mentioned.

Hi @johnrconrad, we'll be happy to help answer that.

Aside from the steps _xyzzy_  posted above, there are no other options to relocate the captions on the U-verse receiver.

One other idea that may help would be to try disabling the captions through the U-verse box and enabling them through your TV set.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
