@OneTreeHill

Do you have a private area that you own or lease, for example a back yard, a patio, a chimney, a balcony that isn't close to a walkway?  If so the FCC OTARD rules allow you to erect a dish (one meter or less in diameter) on your property and the HOA cannot stop it.  If they specify something that voids those rules in their CC&R's then that portion of the CC&R's is not valid and they have to amend their CC&Rs.   I live in a townhouse governed by CC&Rs too which had anti-antenna rules.  But when the FCC enacted the OTARD rules our HOA promptly amended the CC&Rs accordingly.

Here's what the FCC says about antennas.

Installing Consumer-Owned Antennas and Satellite Dishes

And while searching for the FCC link to the rules I found an good article you should pass on to your HOA.  You might find it interesting too.

Q: Can HOAs regulate residents’ satellite dishes?

This is not an acceptable solution.  Removing a service I've been paying money for for over 2 years without replacing it is not acceptable.

While I understand not being happy about a useful feature going away, can you share with me where on your U-verse TV bill you see "Web Portal," "Uverse.com" or any indication that you're paying for this specific feature?

It's been my experience that if you want to be heard you escalate your issue. What level you choose to go to is your decision. Cat Frustrated

A grunt on the front line could care less. Same for his/her Manager.

I live in a very wooded area and can't have a dish.  Even a sales person told me that.

Also, the only guide available is via my remote/tv, but it does not display if the show is 'new' or not.

I called yesterday to do exactly that and was cut off 3 times.

I guess now I should thank AT&T. Due to their ignorance in deep-sixing uverse.com and total lack of concern for customer needs, I was shaken out of compacency to look at other providers and found that I can get BETTER, FASTER services for a third of the cost.

I have found a local cable provider with faster unlimited internet, phone, and a tv package similar to U200 for $80 less.  A month!  With web dvr programming and streaming to windows computers.  And after the first year it will still be $30 a month cheaper.  There are a couple of AT&T channels I hate to give up so I'll give them a few more days to respond, or Bye Bye uverse.

Its the only way to find and record with more channels, have been using the guide from my desktop for 4 years daily. The program guide via the remote control does not identify first run

shows until clicked on one, by chance only. Direct TV does the last time I had them. Now I have 200 or so series recordings set up to harvest all show with U450. Bummer!

Previously, from my browser I was able to go here http://uverse.com/uv/guide and look at the channel guide. From there I could set a recording check out what I had already recorded etc.

Starting a few days ago the link now takes me to https://www.att.com/tv/watch-uverse-app.html which all relates to downloading the app for IOS, Android etc.

Has the ability to access the guide via a pc browser gone away or is this an error relating to web redirects?

Is there another link that will give me the guide?

You can create and view a Guide at tvguide.com on your PC. It is view only you can not program your DVR, on the upside it is a better easier to read Guide than the AT&T version was on it's best day.

Yet another reason to switch to Xfinity. Just how dumb are the powers-that-be that they think taking the U-verse guide off the Internet and restricting it to an app is an improvement. I don't know who is responsible for this decision, but it is a very, very bad one.

Suppose the powers that be are too busy trying to gobble up Time Warner than to worry about paying customers.  Smiley Sad

I find it even more ridiculous that on the right side of this page, under "U-Verse Hot Topics," there is a link to Stream TV to your PC.

Unbelievable.

I have posted in another thread of things I have tolerated from ATT. One of which was the random restarts of my gateway/ modem. Well, it freaking happened while browsing this thread!

Spectrum knocked on my door today. I have kept their offer.

What with the number of people cutting the cord and abandoning services like U-Verse and Directv one would think they would do everything possible to retain their customers.  At least one would think.  The decision to eliminate the online guide and DVR access through a PC would seem rather counter productive to that end.  The guide used to be accessible through yahoo.com but I guess since yahoo isn't capable of keeping user accounts secure they don' have the expertise or know how to have that program run on a PC.  Rather than fixing it, they just eliminate it.  I guess I'm another cord cutter in the making.

Does anyone have a phone #, email or snail mail address of someone high up that can make the change back? If they put it here then all of us could voice our gripes to them instead of just posting of a customer forum that no one probably reads.
