What happened to the Music Choice Channels?
Hello,
We awoke this morning to find out the our Music Choice Channels were replaced with Sting ray! What's up with that? Also, what the heck is U-verse Elite? When I was check Sting Ray, it told me I need U-verse Elite to continue. I hit okay and it downloaded the channels ... Is this adding cost to U-verse 300 programming? If so, how do I change it?

U-verse Elite is an internet speed program which allows downloads up to 6 mbps. I am not sure what you are referring to when you are talking about downloading channels. I see Stingray right now on television. I assume you are talking about your computer or smart phone. Since I am not a techie, I will let one of the other forum members answer your question.
As far as Stingray, itself, I am find it difficult to navigate. Music Choice was easy. With Stingray, you cannot just change channels in order to watch or listen to it. You have to hit "OK" on your remote when you get to the channel. Even then, it takes a while to actually get the channel while you wait for the circle to stop circling.
Changing music channels is all done with the "OK", the left and right arrow buttons, and the up and down arrows. You sort of have to experiment around to get the hang of it. I still cannot figure out how to get out of Stingray other than turning off U-Verse and then turning it back on. I tried the "Back" button on the remote and the up and down channel button. Neither worked.
It really does not matter to me at this point that Stingray is more complicated than Music Choice. I do not have U-verse for music, I have it for television and internet.

Hi dwinth,
As part of our Att-Uverse package, we have TV, phone, and internet. My internet speed is 45mbps (high Downloads). TV package is 300. We loved the Music Choice channels because it fit our style for music. We listen to Soundscapes and Contemporary Christian music. Now they are gone, so Sting Ray is useless for us. Again, I'm paying for stuff I don't want!!! It's just too bad we can't pick the channels we like and just pay for those.

We too were surprised to find the Music Channels missing this morning. Not at all happy with Stingray! VERY awkward and slow to use. Cannot change channels without turning off TV then it has to boot up again. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. One of the main features of the my Uverse TV was the musci channels. Now they are gone!!!! Not at all happy with ATT right now.

Very unhappy with ATT Uverse today. Found out Stingay has replaced the music channels. This was one of the primary reasons I have Uverse, now without warning it is gone. Very little regard for customer satisfaction! Stingray very awkward to use and not good music selections from what I have heard so far this morning. Can't change channel without turning TV off! Whoever heard of such a ridiculous thing in today's world of technology. PLEASE bring back music channels. Although I realize this is probably falling on deaf ears -- you already have us hooked so why worry about our satisfaction. NOT A HAPPY ATT CUSTOMER!

Just press Exit to TV to exit to the 51xx channel, like it says at the bottom as I'm seeing now. You're actually going into the Stingray app when you choose a channel.
You can get the app menu like the app by pressing the Back button, to choose to go to another channel.
Really pretty simple to navigate and they put instructions at the bottom of the screen. 😉

THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN AND NOTHING WOULD RESPOND EXCEPT TO SHUT OFF TV...........VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS CHANGE!

Read the bottom of the screen, it gives instructions how to get out of the app. Just press Exit to TV, it brings you back to whatever 51xx channel.
The change was in the Uverse Channel changes online and the monthly ad in USA Today. 😉

As of this morning, March 1, 2015, my beloved Music Choice channels are no longer available on my U-Verse 200 package!!! What a BUMMER!!
I absolutely LOVED Music Choice....but from what I just read, their contract was up for renewal with AT&T. So apparently, we now have STINGRAY instead!! I always enjoyed the Soundscapes MC channel and listened to it every single day. The equivalent on Stingray is 'The Spa', and I'm listening to it now.................but I don't recognize any of these tunes at all. These are weird, spa-like instrumental tunes that are just not what I enjoy at all.
I am so distraught that I can no longer hear all the wonderful tunes and artists I had become familiar with. In fact, I had PURCHASED certain selections/albums because I had come to love them so much after listening to them on Music Choice. I am sooooo not liking this!!!
AT&T......you really did me wrong by not renewing your contract with Music Choice!!!!! You would be wise to go back to them the first opportunity you can!!! You have real competition out there and we can leave you, AT&T, and find something more economical and better suited to our tastes!!!
I hope every person reading this will voice their disapproval on this forum.....because you, AT&T, are now in my cross hairs!!!!!! I plan to leave you the first opportunity I get. You NEVER should make these changes to your customers who signed up for certain channels...................and now cannot get them!! I thing that is a violation of our contract!!!!!

Hi BKL100,
I'm not sure why you don't have the instructions on the bottom of the screen. The instructions did appear on our TV after we press okay for Stingray and it downloaded the app. Maybe you need to re-boot your system. There maybe an update you don't have. The thing I'm unhappy with is that there is NO Contemporary Christian selection available. There is a Gospel option, but that's not what I like to listen too. We did find that the Spa has the equilant of Soundscapes in Music Choice. Would really like to have the Contemporary Christian music though.

I'm upset about this change too! All of the Classical Music channels are gone!!! Why?! I listen to the light classical and masterpieces everyday!!

Yep! We have the same issue! We loved our Music Choice channels! We love Soundscapes as you did, and we also love to listen to Contemporary Christian channel. Stingray does not offer the Contemporary Christian option. Very, very disappointed in this change. Time Warner is an option for me and I just might see what they have to offer.
