When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?

When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?  It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area.  Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA.  Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

When are you going to settle on a contract with TENGA, Channel 11 - KHOU?  As much as I pay for U-Verse why am I having to suffer without watching my favorite shows and keeping up with the local news.  KHOU is my favorite news station.

This is a customer-to-customer forum. Unfortunately, the few AT&T employees that post here (their posts are marked as employees) do not know.

It could be in two minutes. It could be two months. Honestly, it'll probably be somewhere between that.

What happened to NBC on Direct TV? When will it return? I watch a lot of programs on that channel! It's supposed to be included in the channel package that I have.

When will NBC be restored to Directv channel line-up? Customers pay premium dollars for service. This station is one of my most watched stations. i will be forced to change service provider if this loss continues.

You have elected to deny access to WUSA, CBS in my area because of a contract dispute. This is entirely unacceptable and especially during this pandemic when so many of us are confined to home. I’ve been with DIRECT TV for almost 20 years but will be switching to Verizon as soon as it is safe to have outsiders in my home. Shame on ATT

How much longer are we going to be without KHOU channel 11 in league city texas? If this is not resolved soon we will be looking for another provider. We primarily watch this station for news and shows.

I have been an AT&T/Direct TV, PERIOD! I have been a subscriber literally since I purchased my home 8.5 yrs ago. I pay an enormous monthly bill to watch the same channel! However for the pass week I haven’t been able to watch one of the few channels that I watch daily!!!! It’s happens to be one of my local stations, channel 11 CBS! We shouldn’t have to pay for our local television stations that use to be free to watch!!! It’s very irritating when customers are punished for being the middle guys/gals between cable companies & television stations! We & the advertisements are the reason you have a business, but continue to get stuck with no service in the crossfire!!! Stop it with the greed & think about the customers, the most important factor here!!! I think I’m going to get rid of cable entirely in 2021 & join the steaming family!!! I AM OVER CABLE COMPANIES.🙄🙄🙄🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡

What's the problem with keeping an OTA antenna around for situations like this or even if TV service is interrupted for a period of time?  I'm not going to do without my TV if I can help it.

Better to use an antenna than to curse contract negotiations.  Isn't that how that saying goes?

You have nothing to do with me having a business, as I (and the other people in this forum) aren't AT&T, but are other customers like you.  So you are ranting to people who are going through the same thing, not people who can do anything about it.

You don't have to pay for local stations - just get an antenna.  But if you want to use any sort of carrier service (cable, satellite, or streaming) to get those stations, Congress in 1992 (codifying some practices going back decades before that) passed a law that any cable system (and later satellite and streaming service) that wanted to carry the signals of another service (most particularly in this case, a local broadcast station) must get permission and pay whatever that service wants in compensation.  In the early years the local broadcast stations didn't charge the cable systems too much for this permission, but in recent years (perhaps because ad revenue is down due to lower viewership) they've been jacking up those fees at an increasingly aggressive rate.  The report is that Tegna (the station owner in this case, which owns many stations for several different networks across the country) in this new negotiation demanded a very substantial increase across the board, though we don't know the details.  If AT&T (or other carriers - Tegna has done this to many carriers in recent years) just gives in to the demands, they will certainly pass their increased costs through to you.  However, Tegna (and other local station owners) have a major point of leverage - they can cut off the carrier's signal, and they know that almost all customers will blame the carrier, not the station owner (as you indeed have here).  But you should really be unhappy with the station owners who are demanding large fees to carry stations that as you note are available for free OTA, and which gain additional viewers (which leads to higher advertising revenue) from the carriage.  This is the world we live in - the stations are allowed to do this, and all the carriers can do is negotiate the fees.  The station owners believe that with their signal cut off, the customers (viewers) will put enough pressure on the carrier to give in, and they will then also blame the carrier for the raised costs that follow, not the stations that were the cause of them.

We are long term Direct TV customers and are absolutely furious about the removal of local Channel 11 in the Houston, Tx area. This is AT&T's problem with the channel owners, not ours (...the customers)! We always pay our substantial bill ($235/month) on time, but are now not getting what we're paying for with the removal of the most important (to us) local TV Channel 11. If this is not settled in the very near future, we will definitely be moving to another provider. There's just too much competition in the streaming sector to be treating your customers this way.

When are you going to complete your negotiations with Tegna for my local NBC channel in Portland and Salem Oregon?  Please just agree on a fair market price so that I can have my local channel again that I pay for in my package with Direct TV.
