Where is the Hallmark Channel?
I am new to At&t U verus. I was told when I signed up the Hallmark Channel was available. It took me a week to finally realize you don't have it. Very misleading.

Not going to happen until Crown Media lowers it's requested price to a level commensurate to the viewing level that was on Uverse when we had the channel previously.

Things change as time goes by. Love grows to fill the need of the heart.
We have 3 adult "children" who are all contributing members of society. Two with college degrees and the youngest starting college at 31. He worked and traveled abroad instead of going to school. On his own dime I'm proud to say. We have 3 Grand children 7,3 and 2 months. But I brag too much.
I think you were asking about my Bride and I. We've been married 41 years this past Monday. We've been Happily Married 37 and 1/2 years. We've had 3 1/2 year of arguments in that time.I'd say thats not too bad.
I tell everyone a Man's got to be Lucky once in his life, I married mine!
Being in close proximity for so many years, there's bound to be some rubbing and bumping that's gonna happen. Love will find a way!
As for changes since the early 70's. I've went from Black & white TV with no remote (except for Dad, he said go change the channel or turn it up or down and we did) and only 3 Broadcast Networks to 60" Digital Flat Screen, HD, 450 channels maybe 50 Broadcasting Networks and DVR, Computer monitor, photo playing, Dolby Digital surround sound, Blue tooth Television. And thats just in the Living room! Don't get me started on the phone changes:-)!

Well it seems to this customer, that if the two parties would get together, put thier big boy pants or big girl panties on and come to a reasonable solution, we the customers could convince them to do so. We just have to have enough of us to ask or be a squeekin' wheel long enough for them to get it and shut us up. Just saying.

Welcome @ncmom4 - Yeah my wife has been missing the Hallmark channels a great deal since they went off U-Verse. A "person in the know" told me that they almost had a deal signed last year but were hopeful for this year. Will it happen? Who knows. Honestly, it may never happen. There were some really hurt feelings back in 2010. Back then Hallmark had just hired Martha Stewart at a great cost. Crown Media - Hallmark's parent - almost went belly up, over her. U-Verse was relatively new and did not have much clout, so Hallmark wanted double what AT&T had been paying. AT&T balked, as much to signal to others we will not be bullied. It's been a frosty relationship, ever since. It does take two parties to negotiate. Who knows if Hallmark is the one, not willing to compromise?
Holiday Movies - The Hallmark Channel(s) do have many but they are NOT the only game in town. Later in November, I would check this site. Last year, only 1 in 5 of Christmas movies was on Hallmark. My wife recorded so many on Lifetime, and so on, she could not watch them all until Spring.

I threatened to cancel when this happened, but I was afraid of losing my discounts for the STBs that were grandfathered in and I procrastinated never imagining that this would drag out for four years. I'm finally going to follow through and have scheduled Comcast to be installed next Friday. Many people here find reasons to blame Hallmark in the dispute, but the bottom line is that every other provider not only has Hallmark, but they all have it on their cheapest packages if you don't count local only packages.
This isn't the only reason I'm switching, but it definitely factors in. My price has risen over 50% since I signed up six years ago and my STB doesn't work right with my surround system. It skips if I have it set to surround and a commercial or program that is in stereo comes on. I've read that many people have the problem and this issue can only be corrected with the Cisco box that customers get with the U450 package. I've read that if you don't have that package, you will get charged a fee to upgrade to that box.
The retention department will not be able to talk me out of my cancellation because I will outright ask them if they can give me the Hallmark Channel, an STB that works with my surround sound, and 105 Mbps internet for a cheaper price than I'm getting the Triple Play for. When I first switched Uverse blew Comcast out of the water with what you got for your money, but that is no longer the case. Besides those issues, I would like to thank Uverse for providing mostly good service over the six years I've had them and for coming out with Total Home DVR and other great features that encouraged other providers to upgrade their services.

You do what you have to do.
Don't mess with old people. The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

t2smith is right U-verse is the only major cable/satellite carrier that does not broadcast Hallmark Channel or the Hallmark Movie Channel - that makes one believe that AT&T is the difficult party in the matter of rates that goes back to 2010 not Hallmark - it is time for AT&T to pull up their big boy pants and give the subcribers what they want

Largely because AT&T was the first carrier who finally decide to stop the vicious cycle and not just eat the latest increase. They were willing to hold the line. It has probably helped hold prices down across the industry.

My price has increased 30% since Uverse dropped Hallmark and I was already off of any promotions by then, so it looks like they are eating increases from channels I don't want. I'm sure I'm paying for at least 100 channels I don't watch in the U200 package, once of which is MTV which doesn't even play music anymore and I've lost count of how many useless shopping channels I've had to go in the menu and hide.
AT&T wants to compete with the big boys, but then wants a cheaper rate because they have fewer subscribers than the big boys.

You know that you are under contract for at least a year with a Uverse service, that is why she didn't drop it sooner. That should have been a no brainer. I would like to sign up for Uverse but will not because of the Hallmark channels not being on their line up. Why AT&T has held off putting the Hallmark channels because they think they are a small company is absurd. Really, AT&T.....small?! I think not! Hey, AT&T!! Pay the same as Directv, Dish, and all the other cable networks, you are not special! Your subscribers deserve the same as all the other carriers! I would like to bundle all on AT&T, but will not as long as you don't have the channels they offer!

@Dear One Post Wonder (OPW), I mean @chand667. How are you?
You make a lot of assumptions in your first and only post. AND you are not even an actual U-Verse subscriber.
Contract? Not everyone is under contract. If you choose not to keep your promotions, you are on a month-to-month. You are free to go whenever you want. If one channel, gone 4 years ago concerns one that much, then they are more than welcome to cancel. For new subscribers U-Verse has a 30 day Money Bank guarantee. So if someone was lied to that U-Verse has every channel known to man and failed to research the channel guide themselves, that is an easy out.
Small company? Yup, back in 2011, the U-Verse footprint was extremely small. Only 2 million subscribers. Some states UV subscribers could not get AMC at that time because a cable company made AMC sign a contract that they would not allow U-Verse access. Now UV has triple the subs, how many channels has AT&T lost since NHL and Hallmark? Don;t mess with Texas, lol.
Pay the same? How do you, OPW, know how much cable companies pay for content. I actually had the pleasure of talking shop with a negotiator from AT&T. Every provider has individual contracts with TV content providers. No one pays the same!
So I have to call nonsense on this post. I do hope that the Hallmark channels return as my wife loves them and since she is disabled, TV is one of her only pleasures, these days.

I have missed the Hallmark Channel so much that I am willing to pay to cancel my contract and switch to someone who has the channel. I have been on U450 since 12/13.
