Where is the Hallmark Channel?

I am new to At&t U verus. I was told when I signed up the Hallmark Channel was available.  It took me a week to finally realize you don't have it. Very misleading.

About 2000 posts to read thru.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas:  Bell ringers on the corner...Christmas music on the radio...Holiday decorations everywhere and fresh batch of "Where is Hallmark?" posts on the message board.  Smiley LOL

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Please add hallmark and up to the channel lineup. Of all the stations to cancel. The ones with good decent family shows! Please wake up!!!!

ATT dropped Hallmark more than 4 years ago when Crown Media demanded an outrageous fee request to keep carrying Hallmark channels.  ATT refused to pay and took the channels down.

There has been no news about any resolution coming about this anytime soon. 😉

I am missing the Hallmark Channel.  Is there any possibility that ATT will once again give us the Hallmark Channel?  I am seriously considering going back to TW to get Hallmark.  I have to go to my sister-in-law's house to enjoy the holiday movies!

Hi @ramred70 - I now doubt that the channels will be back this year.  Hallmark's draw (except for Cedar Cove) is Christmas movies.  After Jan 1st, the value drops and it may be next Fall before another window opens.

Now surely you don't think that Hallmark is the only game in town for these movies right?  They have lots but not all.  Look here.  Some Hallmark shows may be on iTunes and maybe elsewhere.

If you are serious about switching over one set of channels, just what will happen if TWC plays hardball with them?

Each Christmas Season for the past couple of years, I am always so disappointed not to have The Hallmark Channel for the wonderful Christmas movies! Now they are going to start offering the same kind of movies year round - i.e. Valentines Day movies.

After looking through so many forum questions about Hallmark and the only response from AT&T being go the request a channel page (which I'm sure everyone has done), I just don't see anything being done about it.

Very dissapointing and because of this, will not have a very hard time swapping companies if I see something the least bit comparable.

Please listen to your customers.

AT&T does listen to it's customers. Look at all of the channels that have been added per request from the subscribers. AT&T realizes that there are a lot of subscribers who would like to have the Hallmark channels restored. They realize this from channel requests, Facebook, etc.

The ones who are not listening are the people who run Crown Media, the owner of the Hallmark channels. They do not hear or understand that the carriage fees that they are asking from AT&T are not worth as much as they think they are worth.

There is already a large Hallmark thread that you should have posted to:

I can understand, that they sets their rates and I'm sorry that you do not think they are worth what they ask and of course, I do not know all those details.
I guess it's just mine and some other customers opinions that they must be worth it to some carriers because they do pay for it and from a business stand point, I would think that it would be worth losing some of the other multitude of channels that seem to pretty much carry the same stuff in order to pay for The Hallmark channel.
Even though I may not completely agree with your response, I appreciate you responding and in a timely manor.

Welcome to the forum. Please continue to post. Most of the people who post about the lack of the Hallmark channels do so with threats to quit, shouting in all CAPITAL letters, and never return after their posts are responded to. I am glad that you responded back.

Some of the multitude of channels that carry the same stuff are channels that supply fees to AT&T to keep our monthly charges down. I personally ignore them, but understand they are a necessary evil.

There is nothing concrete to report but there have been some hints lately, that there may be movement between AT&T and Crown Media. Hopefully, that is the case.

Again, welcome to the forum. Do not be a stranger.

I have seen all the posts re Hallmark Channel.  When I signed up last year, I specifically asked about that channel and the MeTV channel.  The rep said, yes Uverse has them both.  Well, Uverse did not.  As soon as I check into my previous provider, regardless of the cancellation fees, I am going back.  I know based on the posts, this is bigger than customer needs, howeve there are so many repeating and advertizing channels on Uverseit is it ridiculous.  Thus, goodby Uverse.  I am telling everyone about the mis-representation and the poor quality of service and dropping signals, the need to "reboot" more times than is acceptable, to mention a few.  Anyone else feel this way?   Thanks for listening.

Sorry, I've had more than 6 years of great Uverse HD TV/internet w/very few service problems along the way.

I have a 42" Panasonic plasma w/an anti reflective screen and 480hz sub field drive connected by component. I sit at the far viewing distance (3 x diagonal distance-10.5') as that's the way my apartment lays out. All cat5e/ethernet patch cable install.

Essentially the artifacts I see are 'football grass' slight movement (1080i) and increasingly fewer backgrounds 'moving slightly' (1080i also).

In sports, on Uverse, 720p Networks(FOX, ABC/ESPNs) tend to be better than 1080i Networks (CBS, TNT, TBS, all NBC channels) due to the fact the 1080i Networks need 10-20% more bandwidth to be equivalent to 720p. Smiley Very Happy

Edit:  We do have MeTV on 136 (no OTA, national feed) here in metro Detroit, record a number of programs each week.

I agree..Hallmark channel network is a missed, family network that has been seen through our family from 2 generations. it would be grealty appreciated if there was an agreement that they could come to to help share with ATT Uverse families.

Request it here:

Contact Crown Media and tell them to lower their outrageous fee request to ATT for the Hallmark channels. 😉
