ATT has stated they will bring MeTV  to 136 in all markets that do not have it from an OTA channel.  We've had it in metro Detroit for a few years (right after the announcement).

Uverse does not show any sub-channels so it depends on who is broadcasting it in your market.

In the Dallas area, ME-TV is part of an independent station so it's in our lineup.  ANTENNA-TV, on the other hand, is a sub-channel so we DON'T get in on Uverse.  Same with COZI-TV.  It's a sub-channel so the only way to get it with an antenna.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Skeeter, I've seen the Cozi logo in one of the corners of the screen on 576 FETV, right now Magnum PI is on w/a Cozi logo lower right.  Looks like Cozi TV programming all day. 😉

I stand corrected.  I guess it just doesn't show up as Cozi on the guide since FETV is broadcasting their programming (could this get any more confusing? Smiley Frustrated ).

FWIW I don't think 576 is Cozi 24/7.  Indianapolis has Cozi 24/7 on a Low Power station (U-Verse WALV 50).  Sometimes the programming matches and sometimes it doesn't - leading me to believe that Cozi has leased time on 576 and other times the channel has other leased programming.

Looks like it's COZI from 12noon to 2am EDT, the rest is FETV programming (religious oriented). 😉

I agree they need to carry these channels, I have a small business and have comcast cable there and ATT Uverse at home, I love the Uverse but would consider switching since comcast carries more of these channels like MeTV and AntennaTv, and there are a couple others like the public TV station from Indy has a second channel. As well as the hallmark channels. Uverse became availible this past summer at my business and I won't switch to it as I would lose the Metv and AntennaTv channels, so ATT loses.

If I have to put up an antenna to watch a channel called AntennaTv I do I need Uverse? Its called AntennaTv because the shows were from the era of when YOU GOT Tv by Antenna's Understand ? just the name, I suspect that next spring or early summer I will have an Antenna up and won't have Uverse or any cable supplier. Nobody ever explains why they don't carry the subchannels like 13.2, 13.3 and so forth just the main channel 13 Why is that there policy.

I think are several reasons:

  1. The equipment to carry a channel does cost money
  2. They generally have low viewership
  3. The subchannel numbering scheme doesn't fit in well with AT&T's numbering scheme and resolving all the issues natiionwide may be a distraction they're just not willing to deal with.

There are only 3 programs on there that had good writing/acting and can be considered good programs:

All in the Family

Barney Miller

WKRP in Cincinnati

The rest is just scklock that filled the airwaves and don't stand up to the test of time having had mediocre writing/acting.

And to top it all off, all in SD. 😉

Edit:  ATT does carry the subchannels when it is one of the big 4 Networks.

Otherwise, the station must pay for the dedicated line for the subchannel to ATT's VHO located in each major market.  They could number them in the 6000's, such as channel 7.2 as 6072, 7.3 as 6073, channel 38.2 as 6382, etc.

I think that the AT&T wide rollout has stopped.  I've heard nothing official but my gut is that local broadcasters who have it on say 13.3 or 5.2 and so on, will say "hold on, I have a contract to carry it in this market, not AT&T."

On to the main subject of subchannels (or multicast channels as AT&T refers to them), it could soon be getting hairy.  After the original switch to ATSC (digital) from NTSC (analog), the wireless companies pleaded for even more bandwidth (recall that the transition freed up RF space above UHF channel 51).  Since the Digital transition,  Wireless is now wanting the FCC to auction off everything above RF channel 31.   Now the big TV providers are jumping on the bandwagon as they see it as a coup to add new viewers, like they did in 2008.   The broadcaster's are lobbying that "TV should remain free" and that "pay TV is trying to take it away from you."  The upshot is that with only 30 open RF frequencies, in each market, some broadcasters OTA signal may go dark if they can't find a partner to "stack up" with.  I could see in some markets a major network might be broadcast on 12.1, an equally major one on 12.2, a lesser one on 12.3 and some small one (like Antenna TV) on 12.4.  AT&T might do 12.1 and .2 but unless the current trend changes, 12.3 and .4 would not be on UV.

BTW, the head of the FCC is pushing for this further truncation to happen.  Money talks!

@CrabbyOldWoman   @usmc1775  Request it at the We're Fighting for You comment section here:

Have to do this as ATT recently shut down the channel request websites. 😉

Me too!! Just found out Antenna TV showing with Johnny Carson. I hope AT&T can add antenna TV soon!!! The price may not be worth it to keep AT&T. The price may not be worth it we had to keep AT&T.

If you can install a roof antenna on your house, that would solve your problem.

When will ATT-Uverse ever get MeTV and Antennae TV?  You would probably have more customers signing up.
