Why can't I get a printable list of U-450 TV channels with channel numbers?

I thought it would be an easy matter to resolve. A google search and subsequent life chat, which went on with two people and took 20 minutes, still didn't resolve the issue. I ended the chat with an assurance that I would receive an email with a link to a printable U-450 program guide for my zip code within ten minutes and that an ATT&T customer "quality assurance" (I think that was the phrase) representative would also call me within an hour to tell me how I can receive hard copies by U.S. Mail in the future. That was yesterday morning, about 20 hours ago now, and I'm still waiting for either of those things to happen. Can someone help?

Try this LINK

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

I was hopeful Skeeter but I got this when I clicked on the link: ERROR The AT&T U-verse Channel Lineup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Did you put in a valid zip?

Yes. I'll keep checking but even if it finally accepts the zip, I wonder if this is a printable link. I've found others that are a simple list with no ability to print.

If the list comes up (it just did for me) there's a "printer friendly version" icon at the top left of the list.

Note, it's a pretty weird web page - a black background with a close box at the top.  Maybe see if you have better luck trying a different browser.

No. Re-typed zip code to make sure I hadn't typed the right one. Still got the same "error message." This is ridiculous. I pay for a TV service and can't even easily get a list of the channels with the channel numbers!

The good news:  It printed for me but I just printed one page.

The bad news:  It looks like it's 32 pages.  Seriously?  And the print was tiny but that could have just been a setting on the page.

And it lists all packages.  Not worth the effort (and ink & paper) if you ask me!

Exactly. Why should I continue to pay an arm and a leg for a tv service that makes it so difficult to know hwat channels you have?

I couldn't get it to print at all, just spun the cursor.  But, FWIW (i.e., nothing) under the zip there's another drop down menu where you could select a specific tier.

At any rate there is this other channel lineup page.  It too has a print button at the top right.  And it does work.  It still displays all the channels and all the tiers but I think it tells you "who's on first" but didn't check it too closely.  I captured it as a pdf so I was able to blow up the page to a readable size.

For those that remember it looks like the old channel lineup page/card that used to come with the magazine (remember that?).

Thanks but no. I've been there before many times. No channel numbers for my zip code just a one-page list of U-450 networks.

Weird your zip doesn't work.  I would be wondering why that is happening.

No. That's an outdated list (August, 2015) of networks with no channel numbers. I give up. After chatting again last night with two different U-Verse reps, one finally told me that there is no updated list of channel numbers for each zip code because "they change too often." Just great, huh?

If you are new to UV, it's tough to learn channels.  Me?  I've had UV for so long, I pretty much know what channels I want to watch:  HGTV is 1450, TLC is 1250, DIY is 1454, Bravo is 1181, etc.

Also, if you remember that like channels are grouped:  News channels start at 1202 and go thru 1215.  Home improvement channels are 1450 thru 1459, premium starts at 1800, etc.

If you haven't already, you can hide any channels you have no interest in and that will cull the herd, so to speak.  Some people like to set up a Favorites list.  But getting a printable channel list is pretty much unlikely.

Frankly IMO I think a printed list is unnecessary.   The only good way to use the uverse channel grids is to never use the Guide, but use Favorites instead.  Then you are not pestered by additional useless channels that ATT slips in now and then and of course Favorites is (or should be) a much smaller list of channels to wade through.  For example, I have U300 (at least until my promo is up), but my Favorites list is only 49.

The full Guide is enormous.  And yes, the first time, you have to bite the bullet and wade through them initially to create the Favorites list.  While you are doing that you can tell what you can and cannot receive since the channel image is shown in the bottom left.  And once the list is created it's not that hard to go back and review the full channel lineup every so often to check for anything new that you might want to add to the favorites.

Admittedly, with U450 there's going to be a lot more check marks in the Guide editing than in the U300 list.  But in time you begin to recognize the pattern of check marks, the channel groupings, and new check marks that weren't there before (all new channels are added checked for viewing in the Guide whether you want them or not).

Bottom line here, having a physical list in front of you may be nice when you are just starting out.  But in the end you will never use it once you get become familiar with the layout (and again this IMO).

Little off topic now, but I verified that link and it worked for me.  But yes, the "print" doesn't show channel numbers and the web page copyright is 2015.
