It seems many live sports events are monitored by DIRECTV and they automatically extend recordings if the event is continuing past the planned end-time in the Guide. Today is Day 2 of Wimbledon, with rounds recording from 6 AM ET to 4 PM ET, and today is day 2 that the recordings ended as planned -

i have had issues with the new Directv app since it updated. I am constantly getting buffering, freezing, restarting of programs, Favorite channels not showing up. No volume on recordings. Until this last update I haven't had any of these issues with Directv Stream, I have a Samsung Neo Qled TV.
