Business Remote

I have 17 receivers in my restaurant and the NFL Ticket. I’ve been trying to use the app to manage games as they end.

There are so many issues with this app, I’ll jump to the low-lights:

  1. The app consistently cannot validate IP addresses of all my receivers, so trying to change channels stops working throughout the day
  2. Trying to get the receiver ‘seen’ by the app seems to include black magic or a complete reset of the receiver internet setup
  3. Sometimes selecting a local channel where a game will start in 10 minutes will push my receiver to a channel I do not get. Ex: NASCAR is currently showing on the local channel, I want to change to the local channel, but the receiver tries to go the sports package channel I do not get. That triggers the awful blackout search which never works.
  4. Naming receivers and using them within a group only uses the local label and not a unique identifier under the covers so if I happen to change the label on the receiver, it does not propagate to the group.
  5. You can not see what is in other groups while you are adding receivers to a group. It makes more sense to show the list of available receivers and which groups to which they belong.
  6. No way to set the app to switch channels when a program starts from the guide
  7. The channel list (just like on the receivers) includes far more channels than those subscribed even when the appropriate filter is applied.

I could continue, but until the NFL decides which content provider will have the business packages for next football season, I may be ditching my subscription soon.

This is just a public forum of other customers. You bring up valuable points, and I’m sure DIRECTV for BUSINESS would benefit from it. Their number is 800-388-2505.

Any direct connection issues with H25s or H24s and other receivers should be brought up with them or your dealer.

Remember, as of now, YouTube TV only has RESIDENTIAL rights to NFL SUNDAY TICKET so they aren’t officially able to carry it for commercial customers. 

There very well could be an agreement between Google ( owner of YTTV ) and DIRECTV for BUSINESS to continue rebroadcasting NFLST so you may still only be confined with DIRECTV for NFLST.

Understood. However, when selecting trying to comment to DIRECTV for BUSINESS on either the Apple App Store or via standard support, I am directed to here. So another failure of DIRECTV.

I guess so. These forums are usually for residential customers and whenever we come across commercial accounts we usually refer them to their respective dealers or DIRECTV for BUSINESS for support.

It’s quite hard to diagnose a huge system as well as over a dozen receivers without physically being there.
