Dropping channels from a bundle

Have you looked at the Firestick? there are a plethora of channels you can get FREE without going through DTV. Also depending on your location there are a lot of FREE over the air channels available too. look at channelmaster.com page, Go to the very bottom and there you may find allot of good information.

I use Tivo Edge OTA to cover the DVR and it works as well for me. 

I am an EX-DirecTV and AT&T customer. I dropped DTV because of two issues. 1. The nonrenewal of OANN and the extremes in WOKE programing. 2. The cost almost doubled for service.

I don't believe it for a minute, but in the furthest part of the galaxy where strange things do occur, it's possible. 

If price were the problem I would imagine management would have their checkbook out at the negotiation table with Mr. Herring. 

But then, what do they do with all the customers that exited? Do they develop a campaign with special offers and incentives to retrieve them? I'd like to be a fly on the wall.

Wow now blaming COVID for loss of customers when people were forced to "stay home". I would have thought by forcing people to stay home there would be MORE TV viewing not less. 

Now what is a "high-value" customer base? Businesses and wealthy foke that have nothing better to do? Instead of broadening their customer base, they restrict it to pandering to WOKE and special people. I guess that is what happens when being politically correct becomes more important than the customers that were paying

You may want to look into the Tivo line. The cover both OTA and streaming systems. I have the Tivo Edge OTA. It is a good DVR. I record everything I did on DVT. they do have streaming ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, ION and more. TIVO has a bunch of preinstalled apps and more available. I use NoraGo to get Fox news and OANN as well as Newsmax on multiple other free apps.

We are considering Tivo. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. No OTA here but fiberoptic and great service so no shortage of content.

mention my name for absolutely nothing. LOL. I started out with the monthly agreement which after tax was $7 something a month. After using it for the month I called and switched to the annual which saved over $20. For the price I was paying DTV a month for 2 accounts ($69 and $95 with all discounts) the one annual price was great. Full DVR systems and you can even go for the big one that will record 6 shows at once. 2TB stores up to 300 HD hours

Now with DTV charging $113 a month and even discounted to $95 a month that comes to over #1,140. a year. The Tivo edge is $199 to buy and then $6.99 a month or $65 a year. It saves alot. 

@Catskills_Dan I agree and labeled it as ‘Fake News’.   OAN would have lied to California Supreme Court in the complaint if true.  Highly unlikely when even Mr. Herring was surprised to hear the news on main stream media. 

I just heard CNN+ is shutting down at the end of April for the lack of subscribers. 

Maybe AT&T should have kept something that people actually wanted, like OANN.

AT&T/DirecTV didn't "fund" OANN more than any other channel. They paid for it like any other carriage agreement. Though some might perceive even paying for it as funding it. or that opportunity for them carrying the channel was helping to get them started.

@Catskills_Dan That is correct.  And what many people do not realize is AT&T owns CNN and controls DIRECTV.

It would be nice to know what DIRECTV is paying for the new woke channels that they replaced OAN with.  I wonder how much they are contributing to “CLEO TV “ and “TV One”.  Those channels seem to suggest only one skin color is superior enough to appear on the airwaves they broadcast.  I thought we as a country believed skin color did not matter.

As a former customer, I feel DirectTV is showing us that channels that support racism are more important than popular channels like OAN that promote truth and diversity. 

Well, the OP never specified what the actual issue was. OP just claimed they were lied to. I asked for specifics and the crazy MAGA crowd started chiming in.

I’m not sure how one labels people as a “crazy Maga Crowd” when trump got 74,222,958 votes in 2020: more than he got 2016.  It’s the woke crowd that’s crazy… most of the left is scared by that group… parents seeing it first hand now. 

That’s like calling most of the country crazy.  He might have actually one if ballot trafficking did not occur…. It will be interesting to see what the results are from the official investigations which have started.
