Dropping channels from a bundle

Is the any way to drop channels from a DirecTV Stream bundle?  Specifically, OAN. It is a problem for me to support an organization that routinely presents lies and untruths.

@Pro1A Aha, ok, now I get it. Wow, and he/she/it/they/[fill in whatever] really is a confirmed employee per this official website, wow.  Rather unprofessional behavior.  My understanding is that a Move On Dot Org petition - which isn't necessarily involving anyone who is a DirecTV customer - demanded that DirecTV cancel OAN and so DirecTV obeyed that outside directive. But one reason, I think, is this: all politics aside, in the general industry there's a major shift that started years ago. Streaming content providers are struggling to retain customers, Disney+ was already having trouble before their recent odd little anti-parent tirade, this has been reported in the Wall Street Journal. So politics aside, a lot of companies like AT&T / DirecTV are exiting the content business and switching over to pure technical / infrastructure. So if it seems that DirecTV doesn't care about content customers any more, it's true, they really don't, they're preparing to dump the content altogether, that's my perception. That said, it is ALSO true that left ies are dominant in corporate America and waging a war against conser va tives.   One big myth is that the right is wealthy and the left is poor and middle class. In truth it is the complete opposite. Just look at a county-by-county voting map of any presidential election, and brainstorm every wealthy neighborhood you can think of. With perhaps the one exception of Santa Barbara, CA, every single wealthy area votes left all the time: Beverly Hills and Sausalito in CA, NYC, South Beach FL, or the DC areas of McLean, VA,  Potomac MD, DC itself with its mansions in the northwest area, it goes on and on - Martha's Vineyard, the Gold Coast, the Hamptons, the mansions near Chicago - all rich areas vote left all the time. Think of the richest people we know in pop culture - who are they? Most people list Hollywood types first, and most of them are notoriously left.  But skim the Forbes 400 richest, and with a few exceptions - the Waltons come to mind - most of them are left. Look it up, it's true. But you strike me as pretty sharp, you probably know this already.

@Pro1A : but to the point: you're obviously fine, and that guy is wrong.

As a note, those with the "employee" tag are posting on their personal time and have no requirement of being "professional". The tag is to show they should have more internal and credible knowledge on the products and services, but their opinions and perspectives are their own.

Now the Directvhelp team who respond to a post here or there, are official support so do have to maintain "professionalism". I would keep in mind that they are not a replacement for customer support, so can only do so much. And I would assume they cannot give perspective on the OANN situation as they haven't done so to date.

Did anyone else get the email survey from DirecTV? We just finished it. At least we had an opportunity again, to explain why we left. (and we did emphasize that the customer is king) We never left DirecTV before so is this survey something they always do or is it something new?

I think I did get one last month. I also put down the reason I dropped DTV.

I do have to say as I did in an earlier post. DTV opened my eyes to what I can get for a fraction of what I was paying. With Tivo edge OTA and PlutoTv, Prime, NoraGo and all the FREE TV channels I am saving well over $150 a month (I did have 2 accounts).

We have had Roku for probably 2 to 3 years. It's loaded with more stuff than I'll watch. We added Epoch TV and Klowdtv. Watching OAN right now as I'm typing. I do wish we could get OTA with a digital antenna. If we could then we could actually get our real local channels but we live in a valley with too many hills in the way and we're slightly too far away for the antenna to work. Analog back in the day barely worked for us and was all snow.

We have Pluto and Prime also. No Tivo though.

I have watched OAN since it started and never heard a lie or untruth stated there.

I would love to know who gets to control these forum threads.  I just noticed from the forum link below that regular users (not employees) can close a thread if they choose to.

There has to be more to who is “not an employee”.  I suspect some sort of formalized relationship in support of DIRECTV.

Now DIRECTV employees are telling customers that OAN was canceled due to “prices”.

Regarding the OAN, every year the owners of the television channels you watch demand higher prices, this is the reason why some channels are removed from the programming.

I tried to post two truths to counter the fake news and they got deleted.  Maybe they will delete the third or ban my account.

Not true. DTV canceled OAN strictly due to political reasons.

The truth may never really come out. Money is a factor but remember that both satellite systems are bleeding customers to the streaming network. Also know Sling TV is owned by Dish TV as well and they too are losing customers. DirecTV streaming is trying to cover the loss but when customers discover they can get everything by streaming with out having to go through DTV it will cause some changes. DTV and  Dish may be looking to merge. Also know AT&T selling off DTV for a fraction of what they paid for it is showing symptoms of loss and cutting costs. I just dont know what cost DTV is paying for Urban One and the other new WOKE channels they picked up. Maybe a discount?

Have you looked at the Firestick? there are a plethora of channels you can get FREE without going through DTV. Also depending on your location there are a lot of FREE over the air channels available too. look at channelmaster.com page, Go to the very bottom and there you may find allot of good information.

I use Tivo Edge OTA to cover the DVR and it works as well for me.

I am an EX-DirecTV and AT&T customer. I dropped DTV because of two issues. 1. The nonrenewal of OANN and the extremes in WOKE programing. 2. The cost almost doubled for service.

I don't believe it for a minute, but in the furthest part of the galaxy where strange things do occur, it's possible.

If price were the problem I would imagine management would have their checkbook out at the negotiation table with Mr. Herring.

But then, what do they do with all the customers that exited? Do they develop a campaign with special offers and incentives to retrieve them? I'd like to be a fly on the wall.

Going...Going..Gone! Subscribers have voted their wallet.
AT&T posted a net loss of 886,000 premium TV (DirecTV, U-verse)
subscribers and a net loss of 68,000 AT&T TV Now subscribers.
The company ended the quarter with 17.69 million premium pay TV
subscribers and 720,000 AT&T TV Now subscribers.

AT&T has now lost nearly 2 million total video subscribers
through the first half of the year – compared to 1.57 million through
the first half of 2019. The company said its video subscribers
have been impacted by COVID-19 and its marketing focus on a
high-value customer base.
