Trying to watch recordings from app, Location Services on/off
I'm trying to watch DVR recordings from the app. I get an error message that says I need to turn on location services. I go to location services on my phone settings, and it is already on. Plus, their hyperlink from the error message to the app settings doesn't even show a place to toggle that on and off there

You cannot watch recordings when you are connected to a different Wi-Fi network than your Genie receiver. I don't know if you can still download the recordings for 30 days onto your physical S23 flash storage but that is the only way to watch Directv satellite recordings away from home. When downloading these recordings onto your S23 you must be at your home location, and connected to the same network as your Genie receiver. Then, you should be able to view the recordings and theoretically download them onto your S23. Although, I'm not sure if DIRECTV still has that feature.

Are you a satellite customer or streaming customer?
What App are you using?
Where are you located?
What sort of internet service?

Thank you for responding, we have satellite service, and we save certain recordings to our DVR. I'm trying to use my DirecTV app on my Android device (Galaxy S23) to watch what I've recorded on the DVR at home. My home is in Myrtle Beach, but when I travel I'm trying to view my recordings on my phone via my app. It's a local cable provider I can't recall off the top of my head

Thank you all for your input. I'm disappointed that is the case- I don't know why I would not be "allowed" to watch my recordings remotely via streaming. As a consumer, it should be as easy as logging into Netflix and watching something. At least now I know. Thank you again!
