Adding old Directv account to ATT account
Every time I try to add my DTV account to ATT, it says it found the account, but it won't add.
My email address for both accounts is the same.
My User ID for ATT is the email address. My DTV account has no separate user id.

Hi, @wd5111!
If your account is already in the process of being converted into the new system, we recommend not attempting to do on your end as this may cause an error in the conversion.
If after sometime passes and it's still not converted, feel free to reach back out to us. Let us know if you have any other questions!

In order to link your DIRECTV account to AT&T account it would be necessary to follow the next easy steps:
1. Go to My linked accounts in myAT&T
2. Select Link another account. We’ll look for other IDs or accounts that belong to you
3. If you don’t see the account you want to link, choose Search for it now. Or, do one of the following:
To link your email, select Add an existing AT&T email account and follow the prompts
To link any other account, enter your AT&T phone number or account number and your billing ZIP Code, and then select Continue
4.Enter more info to verify your identity. if prompted
5.If we find the account on another ID, you can:
Combine the other ID with the one you used to sign in
Sign in with the other ID
Provide account details to get secondary online access immediately
Request secondary online access from the account owner
Once you complete the steps, we may send you a onetime verification code. Enter this code to finish linking the account. Please let us know if it works for you, we are here to help

The DTV account does not have an ID and uses the same email address as my ATT ID.
The AT&T internet account already uses that email address as a user ID.

I just called them and they said my DTV account is on the "old system" which they are in the process of converting to the new system.
My iPhone app could not connect either.

Do they mean the old system is Directv.com or myatt?

I don't know, but I am inclined to take the offered advice of leaving the process alone for a while.

AT&T was moving DTV accounts to their new RC1 account system unknown if the new partner will continue this or how many accounts if any are left to move.

Had the same issue and no one in their office could help. Had 1 person hang up and another disconnect a chat. I noticed my account number changed.
I told this to everyone I communicated with and they always tried to stay to their script.
Log into your att account and find link accounts.
I had no idea of the email and password of my 2nd account. It's OK, there is away around that.
During the link process, you need to use your current att account for the 1st choice.
For the account to link, 2nd option, select forget user name.
It will redirect you to screen to type in email.
Since you won't know it, it will fail.
They will now allow to search by account # (use an old bill for account info) it will validate it you by completing 3 things on
This will bring back the account info you need to use. Now you know what to link, go back and complete the request.
Once I linked. Everything worked perfect using my current att credentials.
Took me 2 days to stumble upon this...but finally got it.
They should update their script to assist people with this stuff. The worse support ever. Too bad..before ATT bought them, their customer service was the best. Never ended a call without a solution that work.
