DBacks Channel 686

Being told that the 686 Channel is not available to watch Dback games due to ongoing negotiations between the Dbacks and DirectV.  Being told that no one can watch DBacks on 686.  My zip code is 85086 in Maricopa County.  My in-laws zip is 85375 in Maricopa County and they are getting the Dback games on channel 686.  We got it  until about a week ago.  What gives?  We have been customers so long that our Directv package is grandfathered.

We're sorry you had trouble watching the Arizona Diamondbacks, laurajeanholme. MLB has tried to resolve this by providing an alternative viewing option on channel 686. It's available on DIRECTV packages CHOICE and above. Visit https://sports.directv.com/ to view game availability and schedules. Claudine, DIRECTV Community Specialist

This response does not make sense. We have a grandfathered Total Choice package and have always had 686 until a couple of weeks ago. Directv did something to the programming when we changed from bundled billing with Centurylink to direct billing from Directv. Someone should be able to program channel 686 back into our Total Choice package. We have been Directv customers for over 30 years.

Across the top of the forum page on my computer it shows,  - Directv Community Forums, Categories, Ask a Question, Leaderboard, directv.com and Sign-in.  There is no bell icon or chat balloon.  Sorry.  What do I do now?

We're glad that you have the channel back, laurajeanholme. DIRECTV has already worked with the MLB to offer an alternate viewing channel (686) for the AZ Dbacks games during the 2024 season. If you see the "Channel Not Purchased" message or error code 721, it's possible that your receiver is not receiving the programming information for that specific channel. To resolve this issue, we resend the authorization and reboot the receivers, which prompts the receiver to get the programming information again, and helps restore the missing channel. I’m also having this exact issue with AZ Diamondbacks channel 686.  I haven’t changed anything on my end and when I call the representative tells me I need to downgrade my package???  How do I get someone to resend the authorization to get this channel back?
