directv android app

My directv android app on my Galaxy S21 cannot connect with my receiver. I can see it fine throught my laptop.

What can I do? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice.

What DVR/Receiver model number?

What are you trying to do by connecting?

Hi, @rkgreenbank. Your mobile device and receiver(s) need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Learn more at Use your mobile device as a remote control | DIRECTV Support on how to use your mobile device as a remote control. Fatmih, DIRECTV Community Specialist

AFAIK the DTV app hasn't add streaming from the DVR yet.

by streaming, you mean something like netflix?

certainly it can access my recordings, and the "live" channels.

DTV dropped support for streaming from the DVR years ago.  The new partners have said they will return it in the future and since the OP phone will not do it I assume they haven't yet.

don't know what streaming has to do with the fundamental problem.

Inside your house, it appears you need to be on the same wi-fi ap AND on the same band. In my case Genie 2 and Gemini, needed to be on 2.4 GHz...

Works fine over broadband also.

Might be the first thing to check
