"Info" button causing freeze on Directv satellite service
About 2 months ago, delays began on all tvs when opting "Info" or using "Search." The only fix seemed to be doing a reset on the receiver(s.) I finally gave in & called for technical support and was scheduled for a service call after troubleshooting. The next day a Tech Support person called to troubleshoot (again) and after repeating all the steps advised that a new receiver would be shipped with the service call rescheduled as a backup in the event I could not connect and activate it myself while on the phone with Support. Thus far, Genie receiver has been replaced, I've spent a total of 7+ hours (I've timed all the calls, both theirs and mine) on the phone with multiple Tech Support agents, and now we still have the very same problem that initiated this mess - using the Info or Search options prompts freeze to the service that lasts anywhere from 2-7 minutes. These are two options that we use constantly and the lack of their proper function is a real issue for us. It is not weather-related, all equipment is properly set, remotes are functional with new batteries, and this was never a problem previously. Last evening, I received a followup call to assist with connecting two of the mini units back to the internet. I was told one needed replacement and would be shipped and that any service call would be cancelled. The Tech Support people I have spoken with have been polite and professional but I am nearly certain they still do not understand what I am trying to convey - Info & Search just do not work properly on any of my tvs. Any suggestions/remedies/moral support would be gratefully welcomed.

I have this exact issue, starting at about the exact time mentioned here. Worked with a very polite and professional support tech today and was told that the wires in my house are the issue and wanted to schedule a tech to come out and look for $125.

Service calls are $99 and include anything needed to repair your system. Doubt the coax is the problem.

Correct, it is $99, but bottom line told to me was 123-something. I agree home sat wiring that has been around for 15 years should not be the issue which is why I declined the service call.
Anyways, I bounced all home networking\internet equipment and for now, we haven't seen stuttering\lag on broadcast football BUT guide\menu still come up only after a delay.
Setup menus are instant so obviously the receiver is receiving signals from a properly powered remote. I am seeing after guide\menu do load up, exiting and returning to them are much quicker. It is like the system is not caching or losing it's cache after some time.
