Pixelation on certain channels

Every minute or two I am getting brief pixelation and a short audio glitch.  It happens on some channels and not others.  From tonight, happens on: FX, HGTV, and our local NBC station.  Does not happen on: ESPN or local PBS station.  Been going on for a month or two.  Watching via main receiver which is a Genie HR54-700.  Have tried soft and hard restart as well as unplug, wait, and plug back in.  No change.  All connections seem solid.  Ideas?

Thanks!

Been having same problem with Hallmark channel and two others. Lots of posts on facebook about the Hallmark channel problem. Could be transmission problem and not your equipment...just guessing.

You can Menu>Settings>Info & Test.   Satellite test strengths should be 90+ or better, for example.    Your dish may have alignment issue or there is a small obstruction from the dish to the sky.

Overcast day, rain, and snow, will effect some channels, as it passes by.

Hey, @timh_nc. We'd be glad to help with your channel pixilation.

Thanks for the help, @teetertotter!

We'd recommend checking the Satellite strength and alignment as they suggested. If that doesn't help, you may want to Refresh to resend channel information and authorizations, please keep in mind that refreshing is not the same as restarting.

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes!

Many of us are seeing this issue on several channels. It's not your equipment. Something is wrong with the satellite data stream for those channels.

Appreciate all the replies here.  Litzdog interesting many are having the same issue, thanks.  Replying to others, I just refreshed so we'll see what that does.  In the meantime, my signal strengths:  (North Carolina, high overcast day, normally not a problem)

Those are excellent signals btw refreshing your receiver will do absolutely NOTHING to fix pixelation issues

I will just mention that we live in Wisconsin and Hallmark channel, which we record most every day, has been just fine here, during those times mentioned above.  Also other channels that may have been mentioned, as wife and I move around quite a bit on his and hers TVs every day.

We have been okay here with no pixilation's, which goes along with sound.  Our dish has pretty much a clear shot to the satellites.

I refreshed the receiver a couple of days ago.  I don't think it made any difference.  Today I was getting pixelation on some channels but not others.

Like I said, it's not your equipment. It's a DirecTV satellite data feed issue. Only DirecTV can fix it.

I went through having them come out

to fix it. Only cost $100.00. A year

layer, it is doing

It again.

@crenfroe44 it’s best to start a whole new post rather than a sentence of your issue. Include the receiver model, when it started, what channels it happens on, and what troubleshooting you have already tried. Thank you, just makes helping a lot easier.
