RC73 remote will not turn tv on or off

My RC73 remote functions work to change channels, volume and guide. But I cannot turn my Vizio tv on or off.
What should I do?

What DVR/Receive model number?

Have you tried all of the Vizio codes?

Hello @Nativeg8r , I am here to help you with the remote control issue.

To better assist you, can you please check the back of your TV to confirm the model of your device

Let us know this information , so we can check if its compatible with the remote.

You are welcome @Nativeg8r  and thank you for providing the information

To help you see if the remote is compatible you can check this link that can identify the code you are looking for.

Once you are on the page select your DIRECTV remote control you have and then a second window will pop up with all the codes.

Hello, I am having the same problem noted above. My old RC73 would turn my Vizio VX37LHDTV10a on/off. My dog destroyed my remote so I got a new one. The new remote will control volume & channel, but will not turn the TV on/off.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Same issue with the dog destroying my remote & now new remote RC73 will not turn my Sharp TV on/off. Will control volume, Guide, & channel changing, but not on/off for TV. I have done the code lookups & even manually entered the specific code (actually 3 codes) for my TV model#, but none of that works. Tried “copy settings” from old remote, but nothing works for controlling the TV on/off. Did anyone ever figure out how to fix this?

I have not gotten an answer on this. I still have to use 2 different remotes.

Thanks, everyone! In my particular circumstance of a Sharp brand TV, my husband figured it out. Even though I can find my exact TV model # under “Sharp” when I go through the code-finding process, we actually have to use the “Hisense” codes. Our Sharp TV was made by Hisense. This probably only helps people with Sharp TVs, though, so sorry about that. Our TV had a sticker on the back with the Hisense name as well as Sharp, so maybe your Vizio has another manufacturer name on it somewhere, too, that you could try the codes for?
