Samsung remote running my DTV, but…
Just purchased a Samsung and the remote runs everything on my dierectv perfectly. The only issue I have is I cannot get to my “list” menu to see my recorded shows. Any help? TIA

What upgrades are there? There has been nothing new added to my system. Same remote and boxes put in over 8 years ago. What upgrades could they do? The other companies have made many. Skip commercials, voice commands just to name a few. DTV? Nothing new. I ask every time I call because I have to negotiate better price every time my “promotional price” runs out and my payment goes up $80 bucks. Sorry, love my directv but don’t try to sell me on there’s nothing they could do to be better.

@Mmickley we understand how important it's to have the features you need in one remote.
At the moment, our friendly suggestion is to get a DIRECTV remote to make sure you get all the features that the service includes. To order it, you can also do it by following these easy steps.
Reach out if you need further assistance. We'll be glad to help.

DTV has voice control using Alexa, but since we don't know what you have then it is had to tell what upgrades you can get.

I've had 3 Samsung TV's where the tv remote completely controlled DirecTV. Channels, guide, recordings, everything. Just bought another, cheaper, Samsung 4k TV for an additional room, never occurred to me it wouldn't control the recordings, definitely not new technology, and I have other Samsung TV's now that do it. It's really funny to read the comments from people who claim it's not possible 🤣

It is that most TV remotes don't have DTV codes to run the DTV receiver.
