Switching Receivers
I am trying to swap receivers between rooms. Both receivers work in the rooms they are currently in. When I swap receivers between rooms, the one receiver still works in the new room but the one I go from my living room to bedroom I get error code 775. Any ideas? If I swap them back to original room they both work.

Need to know what receivers you have.

Both receivers worked fine before moving. I moved a Genie Mini from the bedroom to the living room. That one works fine in living room now. I moved a HD DVR Receiver from the living room to the bedroom and that one is giving me the error code in the bedroom now.

you did not answer my question. what model numbers do you have. And for jacob at DIRECTVhelp, there is nothing about this question that requires you to use a DM. There's a complete and obvious public answer if you would allow the thread to proceed.

I am not home right now so I am not sure which is which but the genie is either model C51-100 or C31-700 and that is the one that is still working in the living room. The HD DVR in the bedroom is either Model HR24-500 or HR25-500.

Have you connected the rg6 in the bedroom to SAT INPUT 1?

Yes, I basically just swapped everything hooked up in my bedroom and moved it to my living room. That is the Genie mini. That still works. I moved everything hooked up in the living room to the bedroom and now that one is giving me the error code 775. If I put everything back to where it originally was it all works fine.

OK, what is happening is that your dish isn't getting power. There is a small box called a power inserter that is connected in one of the rooms. It has to stay there, you can't move it, because the power goes from that box to the dish over a particular cable. If you move the power inserter, it's no longer connected to the dish. Go back to your original configuration and then just swap the receivers, nothing else.

Ok, I will look when I get home. And the power inserter should have a place to plug into any kind of receiver?

the PI --only sends power to the DISH-LNB --NOT the receivers --the PI should stay where it is located where everything is working NOW --do NOT move the PI

Yes, the PI powers the dish not the receiver. As goldw1800 says, do NOT move the power inserter.
