Can't log on even with the ID they just sent me & newly created password!
I have two AT&T boxes, which now are DirectTV boxes. I go to the website to make changes, but it tells me my user ID is wrong. So I asked it to send me my user ID, which it does (example, JoeBlow). Actually, it sends me 3 IDs: JoeBlow, Blow57913, and JoeBlow@email.com. So I try to sign in with JoeBlow as user ID, and it says "You've tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue."
So I request a link to reset password, which I follow, reset the password, and write it down. I try to log in with JoeBlow - fails. Try to log in with Blow57913 - fails. Try JoeBlow@email.com - fails.
So I go to their support page (DIRECTV STREAM Customer Service & Support) and search for "Can't Sign In" - choose "Chat Now" - jump through some hoops and finally it allows me to click "Find me an agent" - which I do. Chat window says "I'm sorry I'm unable to help. Let me connect you to an agent who can assist you." - Wait until eternity, and still no response, no agent. So I type "Hello?" and it starts the whole process over again.
I would just cancel the service, but it would probably require my user name and password, which... see paragraph 1, above.
I'm learning to hate AT&T and DirectTV. Any suggestions?
