I don't understand why I have to STILL pay for equipment for a horrible streaming service. This is the worst programming that ATT has EVER created. Do NOT sign up for this service - you will regret it. You get lulled into thinking there is no contract, but try to cancel and see what happens.
I think Directv Stream is the best streaming service. I get my Bally's Sports RSN...which other streaming services do not offer. Switched from cable tv 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. Dtv Stream box is great too.
try recording your Bally Sports program when you're not home. if it goes overtime, you are out of luck!!! it only records based on program time only - no opportunity to extend recording time. if it hasn't happened to you yet, you'll see!!
imagine recording a boxing match and sit down to view it and it ENDs in the 8th or 10th of a 12-round fight or you record a soccer match that goes into overtime and your recording ends before overtime even starts. Be ready!!
Yes, it would be nice if the Stream App supported extending recording times. But there's an easy workaround .... just schedule to record the next program after that sports event.
Yes, I was "forced". When I complained about truncated recordings, I was told that adding "unlimited recording" for $10 more per month would resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I had to leave on a business trip and upon returning, recordings were still truncated and cancelation period of 14 days was over. No one at att would waive $100 per equipment, while agreeing there's a problem with the service.
For the person that records "after" programs, I think you are taking on and paying for something that att recognizes as a problem, but refuses to correct.
@1sistero I recorded Cardinal baseball games last year on Bally's Sports Midwest and it automatically extended the recording time on all the games. No problem there for me.

Can Juan or someone with DIRECTVhelp better explain the process for DVR recording of sports events? There are two conflicting comments in this thread, one says that recordings are extended when games run over and another says they do not.
Is there a feature within the Cloud DVR platform that automatically extends the recording of a sporting event if the event runs over the allotted time in the channel guide? How is this determined? Are there any plans to offer an extension option for DVR recordings so that users can configure a series recording to extend past the end time of the show by a set amount of time (e.g. 15, 30, 60, 120 minutes)?
Cloud DVR records the channel/network itself. This means that if the sport event runs out of time, it will automatically start recording this new show/event.
Also, when the time limit of the Cloud DVR is exceeded, the oldest recordings will be deleted to free up space for the new records. Find out more information about it here

You don't have to pay for DirecTV's equipment. The Stream App is supported on Roku, Fire, Apple TV, tablets/phones, PC/Mac, and more.
Perhaps if you give us more details about your specific issue we can offer some help.

Question is why pay for equipment if you can show that the service is not worth it? And yes, I am definitely venting!!!

Sounds like the moderator is an att employee. Pass on the question and concerns and stop siding with att

Hey @abartonk, let's bring some clarity.
Cloud DVR records the channel/network itself. This means that if the sport event runs out of time, it will automatically start recording this new show/event.
Also, when the time limit of the Cloud DVR is exceeded, the oldest recordings will be deleted to free up space for the new records. Find out more information about it here
I hope this clarify your doubts.
