DirecTV app not working on Apple TV with linked streaming and satellite accounts.

This is a known issue. The Directv stream app gets stuck on the choice between streaming and satellite for those users that have linked accounts (streaming and satellite). I've cancelled my satellite service completely, but it has yet to solve the problem. The instructions for "de-linking" account on the ATT website do not work. There is no option to "remove account," despite instructions on how to do so.

You need to use a different email account for the service.

Changing the user ID or email on one changes it on both. I've tried it both through the DirecTV and AT&T website. Either way, user ID stays linked for both streaming and satellite...and that's the problem. 

Maybe what you are saying is to re-order streaming under a new account/new email, which is currently my plan. I've paid for one month of service, so I guess that's just going to be a loss.

Correct. This is a known issue for the services for years. 100's of posts about the bug. Become really common since they combined both services into 1 app. Just cancel and use a different email for the service.
