Ending My DIRECTV Subscription
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share my experience today as I decided to cancel my DIRECTV subscription.
Initially, I reached out because my bill had skyrocketed to $206. Despite efforts to retain me, including an offer for DIRECTV stream at $107, it turned out not to have all my local channels as promised.
Upon calling again, I found out I hadn't been switched to stream but was on satellite with no boxes (internet only), and this still didn't allow streaming for one of my local channels. After a promotional offer to keep the boxes at $137 a month, I was charged $206 again today for this month.
After 15 years of loyalty, I've decided to switch to YouTube TV, which offers me all my locals at half the price and on UNLIMITED screens within my home.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sometimes canceling DIRECTV can be a pain with the return process of the boxes as well as finding an agent who properly cancels your subscription without hassle. DIRECTV certainly isn't for everyone, and I'm glad you were able to find YouTube TV as a suitable replacement given your access to Internet is good enough for streaming.
