Local Stations (how to change location)
Hello,
I subscribed to DirecTv Stream for my father at his assisted living place in Hawaii. The thing is, it’s on my credit card with billing address which is in Colorado. So his local stations (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX) are showing Colorado stations.
I went to Settings, then Preferences, and tried to “change location.” It said something about already added to the current IP or whatever here. The DirecTv Stream is on through the WiFi here at his assisted living in Hawaii.
What can I do to get the local stations be the Hawaii stations?

It all depends on what streaming device he is using. Some devices, like Apple, take advantage of "location services" to deliver the correct local stations. What device is your dad using?
But I should point out that what you're doing is a violation of DirecTV's service agreement. Your dad should have his own DirecTV Stream account.

Hi,
I am paying for my dad to have DirecTv Stream. He is 85 years old, with dementia. I take care of all his mail and everything. So even his credit cards have my CO address since I now handle all his mail and financial matters.
He is in a memory care section of a senior living place in Hawaii.
I have ordered a DirecTv Stream Box and remote via eBay, which should arrive Saturday.
I am not using DirecTv Stream. My husband and I use YouTubeTV.

The Samsung TV does not have "location services", so it's basing the local channels on your billing address.

Would the DirecTv Stream Box make any difference? For location services?

I'm not sure how the DirecTV Stream handles location services. I don't think it does. I think its location is based on your address zip code. When I travel I know that my Apple devices do support location services.
