Streaming with DirectTV

When I started with AT&T internet several years ago I was able to stream after I dropped Uverse. That went on for 2 years and then when they started charging me $15 a month I dropped DirectTV. I did not agree to the charge since I was paying for internet and owned the box that I used for streaming. I really liked streaming using my AT&T box since the picture quality and sound was much better. I would like to start back but DirectTV is quoting me astronomical prices to stream my paid services. Is there any way to avoid paying a lot more than $15.?
