1 Streaming Device, 2 TV's

I do have a firestick on my tv in the bedroom, but I want Direct TV streaming so I can watch all the other channels it offers. I went ahead and ordered another device anyway just in case I needed it. There is a DirecTV Stream app for the Fire Stick (all versions newer than the original), so you can get the service using that.  However, the DTVS app on Fire Stick doesn't support jumping to a channel number (since there isn't a numeric keypad on the remote) - so you need to get to channels though the program guide or the "what's on now" icons.  (That is true for DTVS app running on all supported devices other than DirecTV Stream's own branded device.)  If that limitation isn't a problem for you, then you don't need another device.  You can load the app onto the Fire Stick to try it and see if you are OK using the app - if so, you can return the device you ordered.

thank's for your response. I dont remember seeing the direct tv streaming app in my apps. I will take a look again. I would hate to already have it and have ordered the device.

It wouldn’t be pre-installed. You need to go to the Amazon App Store to find and install it.
