Add HULU to DIRECTV STREAM

The likely more serious issue than how to enter the Google password is that Hulu is not a supported app for the DIRECTV streaming device - you won't find it in the Google Play store.  This is not a technical issue, but apparently a business one between Hulu and DIRECTV, so no clue as to whether it will get resolved or when.  It is (I believe) possible to sideload a Hulu app onto the device, but reports are that the current version doesn't work correctly, so you would need to sideload an older version (you can Google for details).

No idea what side loading is. 
after getting the first response I went back and entered PW. Several tries. Ugh not a fan of remotes.

and after all the mess with google PW discovered it was not a compatible app on DIRECTV STREAM box. That’s life. 

@lydian - I'm sure the OP wasn't able to install Hulu.  I think the password they were trying to enter was the Google password, so they hadn't even gotten to the Play store.

Hulu app is supported and even "suggested" in the play store / apps choice. Still no sound, when freshly installed as of today.

I am extremely annoyed with DIRECTV STREAM boxes. I was able to download the HULU app but when clicked on there is NO sound.  It took 3 hours on the phone for them to tell me they do not support the app.  I was told in the store it was. In fact, if you search HULU the app comes right up. Now, I am stuck with 2 boxes that I have to pay for and will not use. I have APPLE TV and can just use that instead. I can buy a fire stick and have for WAY CHEAPER and it works with everything including with DIRECTV STREAM.  DO NOT BUY THE BOXES! Trust me!!!!! 

I have Hulu loaded on my Directv Stream boxes and it works just fine.  These boxes are perfect for me.  I particularly like the way the remotes work with the device and the ease with which it integrates other streaming apps.  No longer need to change remotes or TV inputs.  Picture quality is also great.

Hahhaha!  I love that DirectTV stream changed my post to reflex their name instead of the original POST that was referring to ATT TV. It makes it appear as though I don't know that HULU is on DirectTV stream when the post was 7 months ago before the change to DirectTV stream and HULU was not on the box when it was ATT TV even though I could download it.  I am extremely happy that the service was changed from ATT TV to Direct TV so that HULU was now an option.  

Thanks for fixing/allowing Hulu on the android TV set top box, we have been waiting a long time for this!  It’s working great now!
