Asked to Pair Remote Every Time

Every time I turn my TV off and come back later to turn it on, a message asks me if I would like to pair my remote (my remote is already paired).  If I select YES, it will go thru a short procedure and then indicate that my remote has been successfully paired.  If I choose NO, the message will disappear and I can begin watching TV (because as I said, my remote is always paired).  I have a work-around (select NO), but it's very annoying.  I will add that I'm on my second remote and box.  This problem began with my first remote/box and is still occuring with the second.
