Second this request. Tell the devs to allow a longer delay for the remote light. I have to tick the volume up once when I need to look at the remote in a dark room. It should last longer.

No one here has a pass to the developers. We are all subscribers or user here in a open community forum. Besides they have a lot more serious issues to deal with then a remote light delay request.

I'm with you on this. I'm a new convert after 20+ yrs with Dish. The Dish remote would stay lit for a good 5-10 seconds. This DirectTV Stream one shuts off in the blink of an eye. Wish there was an option to have it stay on longer. I'd rather change batteries more frequently.

Forgot to mention, the Dish remote had an actuator built-in, so when you picked it up, or gave it a little shake it would light up. I hope the DirectTV developers cruise this site because these features would be very welcome!

I am new to DTV streaming and would love a remote that lights up when I move it. We usually watch DTV in a darker room so lighting the remote should be of utmost importance to AT&T and DTV. I had DTV satellite eons ago before long before AT&T bought it up. A remote that lights u when you pick it up would be extremely helpful

I understand it is 'not available'. I strive to get the developers to actually think about how to improve remotes in the future

@Txgranddad
What remote control model number? Not all DirecTV remotes have a backlight. If yours does it should come on whenever you push any remote buttons.

The one in my den does light up. The one in my bedroom used to light up but doesn’t anymore. Both are the same remote.

It does light up whenever I touch a button. It would be better if it stayed on for more than a second. I had one from my previous provider, Xfinity, and it would light up just from any motion off the remote. That, and stay on ling enough to actually see what butting I was attempting to press
