Are you a DirecTV Stream of DirecTV Satellite customer?
With DirecTV Stream you can use a variety of streaming devices (Roku, Fire TV, DirecTV Stream box, etc) and access your account from pretty much anywhere in the US.
It seems like this should be an easy question doesn't it? It gets a little complicated in actual practice.
When you plug in your receiving device at your real home, DirecTV will look to see what Zip code your in. And based on that it will modify what DirecTV considers to be your local channels.
Bottom line is YES you can certainly have your DirecTV Stream in 2 locations but they MAY not have the same channel lineup.
We live in WA and take our Gemini box with us to Texas. When we turn on our Gemini box in Texas we get the local Texas channels.
We did run into a problem with sports. Certain sporting events are blacked out in certain ZIP code areas. Normally in WA we could see all the SeaHawks games. But while in Texas some of those games are blacked out. As we understand it's all part of the NFL licensing mess.
Bottom line I agree with Litzdog911, it should work regardless of your physical location.
Thanks for sharing your insights, @litzdog911. We appreciate your input. Yes, @marial. With DIRECTV STREAM, you can stream up to 3 devices out of home. Well that depends on what streaming device you are using and if that device has location services or GPS. If the device does not have location services then by default you receive your home based locals.

Watching your shows without audio can be frustrating. Please try to Uninstall/Reinstall the DIRECTV app. Let me know how it goes. John, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Ya learn something new everyday. Thanks.
I wonder if you can turn off location services or GPS on the Gemini box?
You need location services on for the service to provide the correct channels base on your location. In fact, the service will probably prompt you to turn location services on.

Depending on the device, the OP (may have the "Mute on Launch") setting enabled.
