Cannot flip through channels with shared numbers (Stream device).
On local sports networks like YES and MSG (NYC market), where more than one channel share the same number (Ch.631 has two YES Networks), I cannot flip to the second channel using the channel +/- buttons or using the numeric pad on the remote. The only way to access the alternate YES and MSG channels is to select them on the guide. This is finicky and defeats the purpose of me buying the Stream device in the first place. I can't use the voice function either since it also only takes me to the primary not the secondary channel on that number. This must be a bug. Or maybe the solution is to renumber alternate channels like 631.0 and 631.1?
By the way, it works on my FireTV; flipping through the channels does go through all of the secondary channels.

Yes, both devices are fully updated. I forgot to mention I have 2 DirecTV Stream devices and 1 Fire Stick 4K (3rd gen). Both Stream devices have this issue while the Fire Stick does not.

I have the same thing with Bally's Sports Midwest. Two 671's. Bally's Sports Midwest and Extra. U can use the voice remote--say the channel name (not number) --and it will change to it. For example, I say "Bally's Sports Midwest Extra"

Let's run a troubleshooting for your DIRECTV STREAM devices to see if this helps, you can:
- Press and release the red button on the side.
- Unplug your device for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it back in

Yes, I've tried that with one device and no, it did not fix the problem.
I think this is a software bug.
I found this same issue has been discussed before on Reddit:

This was 4 months ago.
This issue is especially annoying because on YES Network (channel 631), the default is the alternate YES channel which is off air most of the time. The main YES Network which actually has the main broadcasts can only be accessed through the guide.

@mak124 let's try this.
Go to settings
Select Settings: Preferences
Select Guide Sorting
Choose the Alpha Guide option.
This will change the way channels are shown in your Guide. Please test if you can then switch using the remote buttons.

It's just the way it is. I've had a Dtv Stream box for over 8 months and both my Bally's Sports Midwest channels (regular and extra) are on the same channel (671) and you can only go to the regular one with the channel number on the remote. It's easy to just say the exact channel name with the voice button and it changes to the channel.
Don't worry about Dtv Stream "help" replies. They have no clue what your issue is. Save your time lol.

In the alpha guide, flipping does work for the alternate channels. However, it gets rid of the numbers completely on the guide and the title previews, and inputting the channel number still does not work. The Fire Stick app flips through all channels even with the guide sorted by #. The alpha guide is not a solution for me.
@Ludwig577 It works on the Fire Stick app so to me this is just a bug. I'm hoping this issue will be pushed to the dev team as a bug/ feature request.
The second YES Network has no different name as far as I know (I've tried YES2, YESHD,YES+,YESalt.) so voice control is a no-go. Guide select is literally the only option. It sucks because the main YES network with all the main games is the tricky hidden channel. And it's not really for me; it's for a cranky senior who can't do tech.

Thanks, please do. Flipping through channels and using the number pad are the biggest reasons I chose DirecTV Stream with the box over YoutubeTV, Fubo, Sling, etc. Especially for the seniors in my household who can't deal with voice commands or navigating menus.
Other than this major issue, I'm fully satisfied with everything else so far.
