Cant login to directv stream app

Hello. I just created a new DIRECTV account and was able to successfully login and open the app on my iPhone but when I tried logging into the DIRECTV stream app on my Samsung smart TV I get error message, care code 205.4. can you please tell me what I am doing wrong and what I need to do to login successfully to the app on my smart TV? Thank you.

Do you have DIRECTV satellite or DIRECTV STREAM? If you have DIRECTV satellite, that app is only used for the DIRECTV STREAM service and you must get a DIRECTV receiver for the Samsung TV since each TV must be paid for ($7 TV Access Fee). There are ways around this like installing each channel’s individual app but I’m not sure how many apps Samsung TVs have built-in. You might want to get a streaming device. 

If you have DIRECTV STREAM, the experience on Samsung TVs are overall garbage, and there are many here to confirm this ‘assumption.’ You’ll be better off with a $30 Fire Stick, Roku, or Apple TV. You should even take a look at the DIRECTV STREAM OSPREY BOX which has a nice remote, faster speeds, and an overall better experience. This is purchased through the DIRECTV website and NOT on unknown third-parties.
