care code 205.2 problems logging in a new device
I’m getting care code 205.2 when trying to log in on a new device. I’m off network but know for certain that I don’t have more than three other devices streaming. Just trying to log onto another Smart (Samsung) TV.
I’ve logged onto more than three devices off network but nothing else is streaming or even turned on. I really don’t want to reset all my passwords when it’s the first time I’m trying and I know for certain the log on and password is correct.

Hello @Cpo, we are here to give you a hand.
This error code appears when you try to sign in unsuccessfully too many times, for security reasons the User ID is locked for 24 hours.
Let's wait until 24 hours have passed and try to reset your password, if the login issue persists after resetting the password, you can message us back, and we'll take it from there.

Yes, but this message came after only one correct log in attempt. And I did wait 24 hours before trying again. And I don’t want to have to reset my password across all my devices.

Thank you for keeping us posted @Cpo
We know that troubleshooting steps can be frustrating and that is why we want to make things easier for you and guide you in the right way. We strongly recommend you to reset the password after the 24 hours since the account was already blocked, so if the error code continues showing up on your screen, we'll take it from there.
We'll be here for any update.

DirecTV's explanation regarding care[less] code 205.2 suggests that this error occurs after multiple unsuccessful sign-in attempts, resulting in a 24-hour lockout of the user ID for security reasons. This lone characterization is not accurate. While the system may be "designed" [given it is AT&T, I use "designed" VERY lightly] to function this way, I have successfully logged in while facing this issue, without the need to alter my password or endure a 24-hour waiting period. There are instances when I attempt to log in and receive care[less] code 205.2, prompting me to restore access by entering my last name. Upon entering my last name, the system accepts my input, allowing me to immediately log in without further complications. I repeatedly intend and forget to track the number of successful logins I achieve before this error recurs, but it typically manifests after approximately 10 to 12 logins. This inconsistency is, albeit typical of AT&T, particularly appalling and detracts from the smallest attempt at a seamless user experience.
