I don't understand why I can't change my plan from a byod plan without canceling. I don't want to cancel just to get a box. Is there no way to just add a monthly fee to my account and send me the box's?

When you're acquiring a DIRECTV via Internet account we run a credit check since we start a leasing agreement and a 24-month contract including a price lock for the same time. A device leased under this contract gets an unlimited-time warranty and tech support. For this reason, we cannot simply migrate an account. I would love to do that. Would I still need to cancel my account? And would I still be able to use the Directtv app on my smart TV? I want to use this in a garage setup with multiple TVs. Even if It doesn't I would like to go through with this.
