DirecTV Stream "down" arrow stopped working.

I have a Harmony 650 universal remote that was working fine on my Gen 1 4K Apple TV (A1842) while using the DirecTV Stream app up until a few weeks ago.

As of recently, the "down" button to pull up information about a program, CC, and record is no longer working.

I can use the down button (and other directional buttons) outside the DirecTV stream app just fine.  I can also use the directional buttons to move about the guide and other feature within the app just not while on a select program/show.

I also tested my Harmony Remote against my Gen 3 4K apple TV (A2737) and it continues to work just fine while using it within the DirecTV stream app.

Both Apple TV's are running the same tvOS (16.6) and the same DirecTV stream app 2002057667 (5.0.55).

The original 4K gen 1 apple TV remote does work (down arrow).  Also apple hasn't updated their OS since July 24th 2023.

Since I cannot find a release date, nor do you tell customers when you update the app I can only assume the issue is on your end with the "latest" update.

Seems like your developers broke something for the Gen 1 4K Apple TV's with 3rd party remotes.

Adding that i'm on control4 with the official control4 apple ip control driver.  But this does it with the IR driver also and my old harmony that i had in storage. (just tested to see).  Super annoying.  We pay every month, can't you have something reliable?  Definitely not user error....

This issue seems to occur on a variety of remotes, where the remote works fine with other apps, so it’s clearly not a hardware issue. It’s far more likely a bug in the DirecTV tvOS app, which needs to be addressed – ASAP.

Switching to the DTV app on my phone to view the Info screen for a show is getting very old, very fast. Plus, I’ve lost access to the program playback options of the Info screen on my Apple TV (where applicable).

@tremolux66 agreed 100%..... it's basically making the app un-usable which is a tough pill to swallow after $20+ increase in 2023...

Don't get me started how laggy the app is on ATV4k 1st generations.  All other apps work great but it's near un-usable on 1st gen ATV4k's :( 

Curious who they hire to program these things lol

@96directtv It’s as if I removed a button from the remote for one of my sister’s DTV SAT boxes (e.g., Info, but this function on the tvOS app does a bit more than that). I appreciate the DTV staff is trying to help when they ask to DM users, but as far as I can tell, the issue has little or nothing to do with an individual user or their configuration, and they should just escalate the issue with the development team.

Although the DTV tvOS app has some other issues on my ATV (e.g., tends to freeze, lose audio, or lose audio sync), none is a showstopper – I can usually just do channel-up, channel-down to fix them. The DTV app is not a stunning performer, but it’s better than the tvOS app from my cable provider – that was really sluggish when changing channels, etc.

I have the same issue (down arrow doesn't do anything) using the Directv app on my Roku where the Directv app is version 3.34 build 3750102. Another Roku with a different version works fine.

Throttle7428 Your Roku experience seems to confirm that it’s an app software issue and that it’s cross-platform. All the more reason to diagnose and fix it.

I happened to hit the back button a few times and found the new app uses the back button instead of the down arrow to open the menus.

Any updates on this? starting to get annoying as there is more $$ being taken out of my pocket yet no urgency to fix this?
