DirecTV Stream Twitch app

I noticed that the DirecTV Stream box had an update to the Twitch app a few days ago. Ever since that update, when I watch a stream, the picture will flicker quite a bit - hurts the eyes. On the old version of the app this was not an issue. On my Chromecast w/ Google TV the same version of app works perfectly. (v11.0.0.0005)

I have manually set the resolution, force stopped the app, cleared cache, uninstall and reinstall, and reboot the box to no avail. Anyone else seeing this issue too? I tried to contact the twitch app developers from the email given on the Play Store but still no response from them.
