directv streaming box c71kw-400 set top box
I am literally unable to watch tv on my directv streaming box c71kw-400 set top box. This problem is so annoying. Instead of watching TV, I am watching a stream of error messages. The latest one says "we are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it. RETRY", message # 50001-001. I have many internet connected devices in my house, such as desktop and laptop computers(macos, windows), surveillance cameras, network printers, smart TV's, wireless speakers. Everything is working as expected except the directv stream c71kw-400 set top box. I googled this issue and I simply cannot resolve it and I am a PC tech by trade. I have pushed the red button to reset the box and I have reset it in the software also. When the device comes up and I sign in the guide is showing east coast time and I live on west coast. The guide is not showing the correct time and I am unable to select a program to view. The software on the device just reverts to a standard error "we are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it. RETRY", message # 50001-001. Funny thing about is I was experiencing the exact same problem on another of the directv tv boxes in my house. That box was connected using a HDMI
connection to my stereo receiver and apparently the issue was the receiver. I switched the set top box video connection directly to the TV and that box is working ok now. This box is not connected through the receiver, but directly to the tv using HDMI and I simply have run out of ideas. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you John, I appreciate the time and effort to assist me. However, I have now been in contact with directv by phone today. They were able to assist me in resolving this issue. The final attempt at resetting the box using the little red button was preceeded by me signing out of my account first, then resetting the box. It's working now. Thanks

I sold a streaming box like this ( c71kw-400) on eBay for someone. The buyer is saying they aren't able to get logged into their account because the previous owner is still logged in. I did reset the device before selling it which I thought would wipe this out. How can the buyer get the old account removed and sign in to their own account?

You have to log in to your account to remove auto sign-on and unregister the device from your account.
