DirecTV Streaming BYOD DVR function

I see various discussions/comments regarding the DVR function for BYOD.  Does the DVR function come along with the subscription or are there additional charges?  I will likely use an Apple TV4 & 4K for my devices.

If I buy a Gemini-AIR from a 3d party does that change anything at all regarding my subscription? I believe I have also one of the older Osprey boxes I 'might' want to try.

You will receive 20 hours of storage with your subscription, and if you want unlimited Cloud DVR storage, you can pay an additional $10 per month. You can use an Apple device by downloading the app. Purchasing a Gemini Air or using Osprey boxes will not affect your subscription. Roland - this is for BYOD?  In this link it seems to mention 9 months unlimited and there's no mention of additional fees.

We apologize for the confusion. You're right. DIRECTV STREAM now offers Unlimited Hours of CLOUD DVR and a 9-month storage for your recordings.

@WVZR-1 Please disregard Directv Help as they are giving you old information.  As long as you are a new customer signing up under the Directv Stream website https://streamtv.directv.com/ you will be able to get Unlimited Cloud DVR free.  Now regarding the Osprey/Gemini or Air device(s) no they do not change your subscription in any way to use them with your stream account.  You said you had an older Osprey/Gemini device if it has been disconnected from the internet for a long period of time it may no longer work as it needs to update regularly.  All you can do is after activating your stream account hook it up and plug it in and see if it will complete updating.  If it does then you are good to go.  Also, when buying from a 3rd party make sure the seller will accept a return in case the device does not work. Also, make sure you use the website above for the BYOD as they have 2 streaming services Directv Stream BYOD and (Directv via Internet), which has a 2-year contract and fees. Hope this helps!
