Everything except volume can be controlled from an adjacent room

My remote controls everything but the volume from an adjacent room. It will however control the volume when I am in the same room as the TV which is connected to the Gemini device. Is there a way to control everything including the volume from an adjacent room?

The volume, mute and power on/off signals are sent via IR from the remote to the IR receiver on the front of the TV.  The other buttons send signals to the Gemini device using Bluetooth (a radio frequency protocol that doesn't require line of sight).

I have a Roku TV remote that also has the bluetooth technology so I have to use two remotes in order to control everything from the adjacent room which is annoying. That indicates that it is possible to control the volume also via bluetooth remote but it's just not built into the Directv remote for some reason.

Ah.  The Roku apparently will relay the volume commands from its remote to the TV via CEC, whereas my understanding is that the Gemini does not and the remote sends IR directly to the TV.  I may be wrong about that, and I'll defer to someone with more Gemini expertise here.
